Job Description Summary

This role will lead strategic transformation efforts across the Hobart site by identifying, developing, and executing initiatives that improve operational performance and business outcomes. Key responsibilities include enhancing site metrics, strengthening alignment with enterprise objectives, driving sustainable value creation, and leveraging advanced AI technologies to modernize and optimize critical operational processes. This role will provide leadership in strategic transformations, drive lean principles across the site and ensure sustainability of implemented process improvements.

Job Description

Transformation Process:

  • Lead and promote lean thinking and continuous improvement at the site
  • Identify, prioritize and implement process improvement opportunities using advanced AI technologies
  • Coordinate lean projects to achieve enterprise goals and measurable cost savings
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to eliminate waste, improve productivity, and processes
  • Develop and deploy advanced AI solutions to enhance manufacturing and packaging operations, improving efficiency, quality, productivity and process performance
  • Track and report lean performance metrics, savings and project outcomes
  • Engage, coach and influence team members at all organizational levels to support strategic and lean initiatives
  • Monitor and report on site progress and ensure continuous improvement efforts align with site and enterprise objectives and goals
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and quality requirements while implementing improvements

Business Acumen/Lean Problem Solving

  • Make informed operational and strategic decisions aligned with site objectives, manufacturing and packaging priorities and site performance goals
  • Analyze production data and enterprise metrics to drive operational excellence, improve productivity, reduce waste and optimize cost performance
  • Build credibility and influence with site leadership by leading hands-on implementation of lean initiatives that deliver measurable site results
  • Train, coach and mentor team members at all organizational levels on lean principles, problem solving methodologies and CI improvement practices
  • Facilitate lean events using tools such as Kaizen, 6S, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, A3 Problem Solving and Standard Work

Coaching & Development

  • Coach and develop Performance Excellence team members
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting Lean principles, problem-solving methodologies, and employee engagement.
  • Serve as a hands-on role model, demonstrating leadership through active participation in improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, coach and support cross functional teams in resolving issues, removing barriers and implementing sustainable practices
  • Promote a collaborative environment that supports innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Life Sciences or recognized equivalent

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing within cGMP regulated environment
  • Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification preferred
  • Demonstrated success in leading transformational operational and continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable business results
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence and Process Improvement methodologies in a regulated environment
  • Proven experience leading cross functional teams and driving organizational change

The expected base pay range for this position is 113,560 - 153,640 Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Organizational Relationship/Scope:

The Manager Operational Excellence will functionally report to the Site Leader.
