Job Description

The Manager of Hospital-Based Specialists provides operational, financial, and people leadership for all McLeod
Regional Medical Center Hospital-Based Specialist services. This role is accountable for departmental performance, physician
partnerships, quality outcomes, employee engagement, regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, and execution of organizational
strategic initiatives. The Manager leads departmental operations while partnering with executive leadership to achieve hospital goals
and drive sustainable growth.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
  • Serves as the operational leader for Hospital-Based Specialist services, anticipating challenges, identifying opportunities, and implementing innovative solutions that improve patient care, physician satisfaction, and departmental performance.
  • Leads change management initiatives and drives organizational priorities through effective communication, stakeholder alignment, and execution accountability.
  • Maintains full accountability for departmental operations, staffing effectiveness, physician support, productivity, and performance outcomes.
  • Monitors key performance indicators, identifies performance gaps, and implements corrective action plans to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ensures operational readiness and survey preparedness at all times while maintaining compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, hospital, state, and federal requirements.
  • Develops, manages, and maintains departmental operating and capital budgets with accountability for financial performance and resource optimization.
  • Provides direct leadership and oversight of departmental management, coordinators, administrative personnel, and support staff.
  • Recruits, develops, mentors, and retains high-performing team members (APP's, RN's, Administrative Staff). Participates in recruitment and onboarding of new providers.
  • Conducts timely performance evaluations, coaching discussions, and corrective actions as necessary to support organizational standards.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, hospital leadership, and key stakeholders to support organizational success.
  • Leads departmental quality improvement initiatives and ensures performance improvement methodologies are utilized to
    improve outcomes.


Qualifications/Education/Training:
  • Associate's Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years' healthcare experience with emphasis that the candidate has experience in:
    • Extensive communication skills both verbal and written
    • Problem solving and organizational skills
    • Conflict negotiation skills
    • Development of processes and quality improvement
    • Ability to insure the confidentiality of issues
