Manager of Cloud Infrastructure is a hands-on, senior technical leader responsible for the architecture, deployment, and ongoing management of the organization's cloud and hybrid infrastructure. This position leads a team of Cloud Administrators, Network Administrators, and Systems Administrators to ensure infrastructure is secure, scalable, and optimized for performance. Reporting directly to the CIO, this role plays a key part in shaping the company's cloud strategy while aligning infrastructure initiatives with business objectives.
The Director will also contribute to the development of IT change management processes and ITIL best practices, and assist in establishing policies and procedures aligned with NIST 800-171 compliance requirements.
Core Responsibilities - Lead and mentor a team of Cloud Administrators, Network Administrators, and Systems Administrators to support enterprise infrastructure in both cloud and hybrid environments.
- Architect and manage scalable cloud infrastructure solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS) that support business-critical systems with high availability and security.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies that enhance system performance, improve reliability, and deliver better user experiences across the organization.
- Design and maintain secure and resilient network architectures, including cloud networking, SD-WAN, firewalls, and VPN solutions.
- Oversee cost analysis, procurement, and optimization of cloud services, network circuits, and related infrastructure contracts.
- Collaborate with the CIO and executive leadership to align infrastructure strategies with overall business goals, including digital transformation and IT modernization efforts.
- Support the development of ITIL-aligned practices, including change management, incident management, and service continuity processes.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of IT policies, procedures, and technical controls to support the organization's compliance with NIST 800-171 requirements.
- Drive infrastructure-as-code adoption and DevOps methodologies to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis efforts for infrastructure-related disruptions.
- Maintain relationships with cloud and technology vendors to ensure service delivery, licensing compliance, and cost optimization.
You'll thrive here if you have Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on cloud and hybrid environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
- Strong expertise with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP, including networking, identity, and security components.
- Proficient with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Bicep, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Experience supporting IT compliance initiatives and implementing technical controls (e.g., NIST 800-171, CIS, ISO).
- Proven success leading infrastructure teams and driving technology transformation initiatives.
- Strong background in cost analysis, vendor negotiation, and budgeting for cloud and network services.
Preferred: - Master's degree or certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent.
- Experience with hybrid cloud and datacenter modernization.
- Familiarity with container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, AKS, EKS).
- ITIL Foundation certification or practical experience in ITIL-based service management.
