Basic FunctionHF Sinclair is seeking a Manager, Logistics Operations, located in Dallas, TX. This position oversees and manages multiple aspects and activities of renewables and feedstock logistics, including overseeing personnel activities to ensure all logistics activities are executed in a timely and prudent manner.
Job Duties- Oversees end-to-end product and feedstock movement and distribution activities, ensuring timely execution, cross functional coordination, and accurate downstream processes, including invoicing.
- Manages the HFS renewables rail fleet
- Develops and executes operational strategies while identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities to optimize product and feedstock movement, enhance efficiency, and support commercial value.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal teams and external partners - including customers, suppliers, terminals and third-party providers - to support reliable and efficient product distribution and feedstock aggregation.
- Leads and develops departmental personnel while managing performance, processes, and outcomes to achieve defined service levels, cost targets, and on-time delivery performance while improving overall business profitability
- Ensures all required transportation assets are in place to support both customer and interplant shipments.
- Maintains close communication with VP, Commercial, and other key personnel, keeping all informed of conditions, activities and trends, which may have an impact on the business and ability to capture market values.
- Prepares input for weekly Planning meetings.
- Maximizes effective use of all IT programs and applications.
- Reviews invoices to ensure proper payment.
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their manager, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
ExperienceA minimum of ten years' experience in the rail industry with an in depth understanding of Class 1 manifest rail operations and experience in network design and implementation.
Preferred Experience An understanding of product marketing, as well as an understanding of refining procedures, is also desired depending on location.
Education LevelA minimum of a Bachelor's degree in business, business administration, logistics concentration or in a technical discipline is required. A combination of relevant education and significant industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree in the relevant field.
Required SkillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft products, excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task, and experience in the rail industry is required. Ability to handle situations involving conflicts arising out of products being off specification; short/long term refinery/logistical problems causing product outages and/or customer complaints; human error causing product outages, etc. Strong organizational skills; leadership, strong written and verbal skills, effective delegation, negotiation, and forward-thinking skills; ability to communicate across multiple department lines and manage third-party locations.
Supervisory/Managerial ResponsibilityResponsible for the direct supervision of staff and managerial employees.
Work ConditionsOffice based. May require up to 20% travel depending on land and air. Subject to varying road and weather conditions.
