POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Legal &RiskManagement,plays a key role inSickKids Foundation's legal operations and enterprise risk management framework. Reporting to the Director, Legal, this role provides enterprise risk management program leadershipand driveslegal,operational, and projectmanagementactivities. The Manager will contribute to enterprise risk managementexecution,optimizelegal and risk processes, support drafting and reviewofagreements manage workflows, provide administrative support for the Legal and Risk Department, and enhance compliance and risk culture across the organization.

The Manager, Legal &RiskManagementis a pragmatic operator and trusted partner who canmanagelegal,risk,and governanceframeworks into practical organizational practices. Theydemonstratestrong judgment, systems thinking, and the ability to influencein a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

YOU WILL:

Legal Operations Services

  • Drafting, reviewing and/or revising of standard-form agreements (including gift and supplier agreements), correspondence, and memorandums in collaboration with Legal Counsel.
  • Own andoptimizelegal intake, triage, and tracking processes to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery.
  • Drive the development and continuous improvement of legal templates, playbooks, and internal guidance materials, including management of the Legal& Riskintranet and precedent system.
  • Identifyand implement opportunities to modernizelegal workflows, tools, and systemsappropriate fora resource-conscious nonprofit environment.
  • Provide strategic legal and operational support by conducting research, analyzing information, and preparing briefing notes,memoranda,presentations,and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible foradministrative functionsfor theLegaldepartment,includingmaintainingand improving legaldepartment filingsystems, document management,managinginvoiceand expense payments,and calendar coordination.
  • Work collaboratively with various Foundation teams build strong relationships to deliver successful legal services.
  • Other duties as assigned.


EnterpriseRiskManagement

  • Incollaboration with the Vice President, General CounselandChiefRisk Officer, the Manager leadsthe execution and continuous enhancement of the Foundation's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program,ensuring alignment with organizational strategy andbest practices.
  • Drive the development, maintenance, and evolution of theFoundation'srisk register in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Lead the preparationofRisk Management Committeematerials, including agenda, meeting minutes, and otherrequired materials.
  • Responsible forthepreparation of riskpresentations,riskreports,anddashboardsfortheSenior Management Team and Board Committees.
  • Proactivelyidentifyemerging risks, assess impacts, and implement mitigation strategies to strengthen organizational resilience.
  • Provide ERMrecommendations tothe Chief Risk Officer and independentlyliaiseandadvisesenior leadership on risk deliverables andproblem-solving.
  • Champion continuous improvement of risk frameworks, governance practices, and reporting processes across the organization.


ProjectManagement

  • Provide projectmanagementexpertiseforcross-functionalinitiativesfor thefull project lifecycleincluding developing project plans, preparingmeetingagendas and facilitatingproject meetings.
  • Lead thetracking andmonitoringproject deliverables toensure projectdeliveryiscompletedwithinscopeand establishedtimelines, andobjectives.
  • Drivestructureddecision-making, problem-solving, and issue resolution across complex stakeholder environments.
  • Establish and reinforce project governance, accountability, and reporting structures.
  • Engageproject stakeholders and communicate project updates to ensuretimelyreportingand project success.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in legal operations, risk management, or a related field.
  • Post-secondary educationrelated tolaw, risk management, or a related discipline,lawclerk designation,PMP,or equivalent considered an asset.
  • Experience drafting and reviewing agreements and managing contract lifecycle processes.
  • Experience leading risk programs.
  • Demonstratedproject management competencies considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to drive initiatives, influence stakeholders, andoperatewith a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to assess complex issues and implement practical solutions.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to prioritize activities,issuesand multiple demands within tight deadlines.
  • Computer literacy at the intermediate to advancedlevel, with project management tools and MS Visio as an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to senior leadership.
  • High levelof discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.


Total Compensation Package

Expected Hiring Salary Range: $82,064 to $102,852; with the ability to progress to a maximum of $117,971 with demonstrated experience and proficiency. To ensure fair and equitable pay at SickKids Foundation, placement on the salary range will be based on your years of experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the Manager, Legal and Risk Management.
