As the Manager of IT at 7shifts, you'll lead our IT function day-to-day and guide a team of three supporting our growing organization. Reporting to the Director, Information Security & Privacy, you'll own the day-to-day operations of our IT department, ensuring our people have the tools, technology, and support they need to do their best work. You'll oversee everything from employee support and IT systems to technology adoption across the company, while partnering closely with teams across the business to understand what they need from IT.

You'll be responsible for improving how we support our people - streamlining ticketing so issues get resolved quickly, building a consistent approach to AI tooling across 7shifts, and partnering with Security to ensure new tools are properly vetted and approved. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll build processes that scale, improve how we work, and solve real problems for the team.
What you'll do:

• Lead and develop a small team, setting priorities, providing coaching and feedback, and creating an environment of curiosity, ownership, and continuous improvement
• Lead the day-to-day operations of the IT department while staying hands-on with employee support through Jira, troubleshooting issues and improving how we respond to and resolve requests
• Own our key software platforms and IT environment, ensuring our systems are reliable, well-managed, and able to scale with the company
• Lead and contribute to IT projects that improve workflows and the employee experience, including onboarding and offboarding
• Help shape and grow our AI tooling practice across 7shifts, while building knowledge and self-service resources that make it easier for employees to get the support they need
• Partner with Security, Development, and business leaders to evaluate, standardize, and drive adoption of technology across the company

What you bring:

• Experience leading and developing an IT team, including coaching, providing regular feedback, and creating a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement
• Hands-on IT expertise in a fast-moving SaaS environment, supporting Mac environments, troubleshooting technical issues, managing SaaS applications, and administering user access
• Familiarity with the tools and systems that keep a growing company running smoothly, including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Zoom, and Atlassian, along with Jamf Pro or a similar device management platform and Okta or another identity and access management solution
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• A practical, adaptable approach to ambiguity, with the ability to make thoughtful decisions, prioritize effectively, and keep work moving without having all the answers

It'd be even cooler if you had:

• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Perl, with a focus on automating repetitive tasks and improving efficiency
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and how automation can improve the scalability and reliability of IT operations

Compensation

The base compensation range for this position is CAD $112,000 - CAD $169,000. This range reflects the full growth path for the role, from building core skills, to accomplished performance, through to role mastery. We typically target the accomplished level when hiring externally. At this level, individuals bring relevant experience in the role, demonstrate strong job-related skills, operate with confidence and consistency, and are able to deliver impact with limited ramp-up while still having meaningful opportunity to grow.

Compensation at 7shifts is performance and growth-driven. As you develop your skills and expand your impact over time, your compensation grows with you. Your specific placement within this range is based on your job-related skills, knowledge, and experience, as well as our internal equity assessment.
