Behind every patient interaction, clinical decision, and operational process is a technology infrastructure that must perform flawlessly. As the Manager of Information Services Systems Operations, you will provide leadership for the core technology platforms that keep our organization connected, secure, and operational. Leading a team of infrastructure professionals, you will oversee enterprise infrastructure including servers, virtualization, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity programs, ensuring the reliability of the technology that supports patient care and business operations. In this position, your leadership will play a critical role in advancing modernization efforts while maintaining the stability and performance of mission-critical systems; helping to ensure that caregivers, clinicians, and their support teams have secure, reliable access to the systems they depend on to serve our communities every day.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong leader who enjoys balancing people leadership, operational excellence, and strategic technology planning. You will lead a team of approximately 13 infrastructure professionals who support enterprise technologies across compute, storage, virtualization, database platforms, and resiliency initiatives. As healthcare technology continues to evolve, you'll play a key role in modernizing infrastructure, advancing cloud-forward strategies, and ensuring the organization is prepared for future growth.

Working closely with leaders across Information Services, Networking, Digital Workplace, Information Security, Imaging Informatics, and business operations, you'll serve as both a strategic partner and trusted advisor. You'll help shape infrastructure roadmaps, drive complex initiatives, manage vendor relationships, and ensure critical systems remain secure, reliable, and resilient.

This role offers a hybrid work environment for candidates residing in Oregon, with periodic onsite presence required to support infrastructure operations, team collaboration, and organizational initiatives.

What you'll do

• Lead and develop a team of systems administrators, engineers, database professionals, and infrastructure specialists responsible for enterprise infrastructure operations.
• Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities that strengthen team engagement and technical capabilities.
• Oversee server infrastructure across Windows, Linux, UNIX, virtualized, and hybrid environments.
• Lead enterprise virtualization initiatives, including VMware platforms and evolving private cloud technologies.
• Manage storage infrastructure, backup systems, data lifecycle management, and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Ensure business continuity and system resiliency through comprehensive planning, testing, and recovery strategies.
• Partner with organizational leaders to support ransomware resilience, emergency preparedness, and infrastructure recovery planning.
• Develop and execute infrastructure roadmaps that align technology investments with organizational goals.
• Drive modernization efforts, including cloud-forward initiatives and infrastructure lifecycle management.
• Oversee system patching, operating system upgrades, hardware refreshes, and infrastructure maintenance activities.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, capacity, security, and service reliability.
• Lead small- and medium-sized technology projects while serving as the accountable leader for infrastructure initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with networking, security, applications, and digital workplace teams to ensure seamless technology operations.
• Establish key performance indicators and use data to measure team performance, service delivery, and operational effectiveness.
• Manage vendor relationships, contract performance, and escalation processes.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, capital plans, forecasts, and cost-center performance.
• Apply Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to improve efficiency, eliminate waste, and enhance service delivery.
• Serve as a trusted technology advisor to leaders across the organization.

• Demonstrated experience supporting server environments, virtualization platforms, storage technologies, and enterprise infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of disaster recovery, business continuity, backup strategies, and infrastructure resiliency.
• Experience managing complex technology environments including hybrid and cloud-connected infrastructure.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into meaningful business conversations with operational and executive leaders.
• Proven success coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong change leadership skills with the ability to gain buy-in, influence stakeholders, and guide teams through transformation.
• Experience building strong vendor partnerships and effectively managing vendor performance.
• Strong financial and business acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and collaborating across technical disciplines.
• Experience with Lean, Kaizen, continuous improvement, or operational excellence methodologies preferred.
• Technical knowledge of virtualization, storage platforms, server infrastructure, database environments, and enterprise systems operations.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• Five years of information services experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Two years of leadership experience.
• Two years of experience managing projects.

Additional information

• Five years of experience managing servers, storage, and databases highly preferred.
• Minimum of two years experience directly managing medium-to-large vendor relationships highly preferred.
