Job Summary

The Manager, Inflight Training Delivery leads the delivery of all inflight training programs across both fleets, ensuring instructional quality, consistency, and scalability. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Regulatory Training and Standards, this role owns the training delivery function and leads the trainers responsible for initial, recurrent, differences, and specialty training. This position partners closely with the Training Development team, who own curriculum and content design, to ensure every training session, regardless of fleet or base, is delivered to a consistent, regulation-compliant standard.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Trainers - Dash 8 and E2 teams, ensuring consistent, high-quality training delivery across both fleets.
  • Own the training delivery function, including facilitation, and liaise with the Planning team for logistics for initial, recurrent, differences, and specialty training sessions
  • Partner with the Training Development team to translate curriculum and content updates into consistent classroom and simulator delivery
  • Standardize instructional practices, facilitation techniques, and evaluation methods across trainers and bases
  • Monitor and calibrate trainer performance and instructional quality, addressing gaps through coaching and development
  • Maintain trainer qualification and certification standards, ensuring all instructors remain current with regulatory and company requirements
  • Track training completion and compliance metrics across both fleets, escalating at-risk gaps to the Senior Manager, Regulatory Training and Standards
  • Support the transition to the Pelesys training system from a delivery standpoint, ensuring continuity of training operations throughout the changeover
  • Ensure training delivery meets Transport Canada Civil Aviation Regulations (CARs), Commercial Air Service Standards (CASS), and Porter's internal requirements
  • Support aircraft introductions, service changes, and procedural updates by coordinating trainer readiness and delivery capacity
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of training delivery methods, tools, and instructor development programs
  • Actively participate in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS) by reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations and promoting the Company's Safety Policy

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience in aviation training delivery, instructional leadership, or inflight operations
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Flight Attendant Trainer or equivalent, with demonstrated experience delivering Transport Canada-compliant training
  • Experience supporting training delivery across multiple fleets or operational certificates is an asset
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing frontline trainers or instructors
  • Working knowledge of CARs, CASS, and cabin safety training requirements
  • Familiarity with Company Operations Manuals, training manuals, and applicable SOPs
  • Experience with IOSA standards and recommended practices (ISARPs)
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage logistics across multiple bases
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable operating in a period of system transition, with adaptability to evolving tools and processes, with a passion for utilizing technology and adult learning principles
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training-related activities
  • Ability to secure restricted airport security clearance
  • Must maintain a valid passport (with a valid C1D Visa if required) and be able to travel when required; access to a vehicle is essential
  • Successfully complete the initial cabin crew training
