Full Job Description
Provides overall technical direction and administration to imagingservices personnel, ensuring system of testing operates efficiently andeffectively. Regularly reviews andrevises, as necessary, imaging services standards and ensures diagnosticprocedures performed comply with all hospital, system and regulatory agencystandards. Coordinates provision of imagingservices with other medical functions and serves as technical resource fordepartmental personnel. As an expert in the assigned unit, is a resource personto both staff and physicians.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  1. Plans and administers directly, and through subordinate supervisory personnel, the effective management and delivery of diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with all hospital, system and regulatory agency standards.
  2. Assists with ensuring quality, financial, and customer service objectives are met.
  3. Assists with developing, and administering capital and operating budgets in order to meet agreed-upon departmental goals and objectives. Implements appropriate methods to monitor adherence to budgets and resolve variances.
  4. Serves as technical resource to subordinates in resolving complex problems and in investigating and recommending corrective actions in response to incident reports and/or patient complaints.
  5. Assists with recommendations for department equipment modifications, new supplies and minor equipment purchases.
  6. Fosters smoothly running imaging services functions through timely and effective resolution of disruptions.
  7. Ensures the attainment of objectives through the selection, development, training and evaluation of imaging services staff.
  8. Ensures that all imaging services activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, federal and governmental regulations and laws.
  9. Performs other related duties as required and directed.


Required:
  • Five years of job related experience.
  • Registry in imaging discipline.
  • Current BLS certification.

Preferred:
  • Supervisory experience within the healthcare industry
  • Current knowledge of ACR accreditation requirements and audits.
  • Certified Radiology Administrator
  • Knowledge of P4P impact on hospitals.
