Full Job Description
Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Hardware Engineering-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, will accept a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, and 6 years of experience in the job offered or in a Hardware Engineering-related occupation.
  • Position requires 6 years of experience in the following: Technical leadership or People management for team development and project execution; Design and validation of interacting hardware subsystems or Hardware system integration; Applying systems architecture principles or System design for optimizing system testability, performance, reliability, and cost; Root-cause failure analysis or System-level debugging of hardware and software systems to triage and implement corrective actions; and Applying domain-specific technical knowledge in wireless hardware design, system integration, and regulatory compliance.


Responsibilities
  • Lead your hardware engineering team by setting priorities and providing consistent performance coaching and feedback
  • Develop the long-term hardware roadmap by collaborating with internal partners and external vendors to align on strategic goals
  • Evaluate the feasibility of hardware designs against product requirements, customizing solutions based on performance, power, and technology trade-offs
  • Analyze complex hardware issues, risks, and trade-offs to drive corrective solutions for ambiguous or novel failures & Review and approve hardware design, architecture, and technology development activities across multiple complex product lines
  • Direct performance measurements and simulations to optimize user experience and lead continuous design and process improvement initiatives. International and domestic travel of more than 10% is required.


The US base salary range for this full-time position is $282,900 - $330,000 25% bonus target equity benefits determined by role, level, and location. Position reports to the Google San Jose, California office & may allow for a hybrid schedule per Google policy.
