The role:

The Manager, Consolidation, Financial Planning & Analysis is part of the GBM Financial Planning & Analysis (GBM FP&A) team responsible for providing value-added analytical and strategic support to GBM's business lines and senior management to facilitate achievement of GBM's business objectives. Reporting to the Director, Consolidation, GBM FP&A, the incumbent will be primarily responsible for assisting in the reporting/planning/forecasting activities for the division including GBM Canada and GBM Other, and developing insightful and timely financial intelligence to support management decisions.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Financial Forecasting and Planning - Manage the preparation and work together with others to prepare and update financial plans, forecasts, stress tests, and other forward-looking financial outlooks, for GBM Canada and GBM Other, as well as consolidation of total GBM. Identify issues and provide commentary related to financial results and/or forecasts.
  • Financial Reporting - Manage and participate in the preparation of reliable financial reports on a timely basis for use by Management. This includes, but is not limited to, Monthly Reporting package, Quarterly and Monthly Management meeting decks, Weekly Dashboard and Peer Reporting Summaries.
  • Strategic Partner to Business Line - Provide analysis, support and counsel to business partners related to balance sheet, income statement, planning and forecasting.
  • Management Information Systems - Work collaboratively with other stakeholders in GBM to access MIS data required to perform the duties of the position including data related to profitability and performance.
  • Ad Hoc Requests - Support ad hoc requests from Senior Management, auditors, regulators, ratings agencies, research analysts and other external parties as required. Prepare and provide analytical support including analysis and data related to business line, product, or geographies.
  • Team Environment - Contribute to an environment in which the team works together to produce tailored and value-added strategic analysis while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls.


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • University degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration, or Chartered Financial Analyst designation, Chartered Professional Accountant designation, or comparable experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of GBM business line and/or Finance experience.
  • Strong analytical skills including financial modelling.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills and proven ability to provide insightful and influential analysis to Management.
  • Experience with financial reporting and planning tools (EGL, OBI, Hyperion, and Smartview).
  • A demonstrated ability to work in a team environment under tight deadlines, in some cases on special projects requiring innovative analysis and solutions.
