Oura is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager of Electrical Engineering to lead our talented team in developing the core electronics for our next-generation wearable devices. You will be a key driver in defining the electrical architecture, design, performance, and reliability of our products, ensuring they remain at the cutting edge of technology. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of Oura's innovation. This opportunity will be hybrid in San Francisco.
What You'll Do:- Lead and Strategize: Manage and mentor a team of electrical engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Define Electrical Architecture and System Design: Architect and oversee the development of the electrical systems for wearable devices, including power management, sensor integration, communication interfaces, and signal processing.
- Drive Technical Excellence: Ensure the electrical designs meet performance targets, reliability standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Power Management Optimization: Oversee the design and optimization of power systems to maximize battery life and efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Design, Firmware, Software, Product Management, and Operations teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the overall product.
- Testing & Validation: Define and oversee electrical testing and validation plans to ensure robust product performance and reliability.
- Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify and proactively address potential electrical design risks.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers for electrical components and services.
Requirements: We would love to have you on the team if you have:
- 8+ years of experience in managing electrical engineering teams, with a significant focus on embedded systems and low-power design, preferably within very high volume consumer electronics or wearable devices.
- Deep expertise in analog and digital circuit design, power management, and sensor integration.
- Depth in both testing and validation methodologies for electrical systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Significant experience working with overseas manufacturing partners.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- A strategic mindset with a passion for creating innovative and high-quality products.

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
- San Francisco Compensation Range: $198,050 - $233,000
- San Diego Compensation Range: $180,200 - $212,000
