What You’ll Be Doing
The Compliance and EAML Examinations Programs (CEEP) team is a second line of defence function accountable for designing and executing a risk-based program to assess the adequacy, design, and operating effectiveness of the first and second line of defence AML/ATF, sanctions and regulatory compliance controls and processes. Through execution of examinations, CEEP provides independent assurance of adherence to regulatory and CIBC policy requirements on strategic business units and functional groups across CIBC.

How You'll Succeed
- Execute AML/ATF and Sanctions Examinations - Plan and conduct examinations to evaluate the effectiveness of processes, controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Teamwork and collaboration - Share your expertise and support team members with their examinations; contribute to enhancements that strengthen the EAML Testing Program. Promote an environment where diverse opinions are valued.
- Communication and interpersonal skills - Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication abilities. Effectively engage with various lines of business regarding AML/ATF and Sanctions requirements and communicate examination results clearly.
- Relationship Building - Establish and maintain positive working relationships with LOBs, Advisory partners, Internal Audit, and other Governance partners during examinations. You understand the importance of building and maintaining relationships for success. You inspire outcomes by making your voice heard and constructively challenging the status quo. You excel when empowered to lead, take initiative, and deliver results.
- Reporting - Prepare and submit comprehensive reports to the LOB examined, detailing findings, ratings, and recommended remedial actions to address identified issues.
Who You Are
- Experienced Professional. You have demonstrated experience leading examinations, audits, or compliance reviews. Proficiency in AML/ATF and Sanctions-related legislation and regulations is required. Experience with testing AML/ATF controls and methodologies is highly advantageous.
- Educational Background. You hold a University Degree, College Diploma, or equivalent work experience, with a minimum of three years in the financial, compliance, or audit industry.
- Certified Professional. You maintain current accreditation and good standing with ACAMS, ACFCS, CPA, or CIA.
- Data-Driven. You enjoy investigating complex problems and are confident in communicating detailed information effectively, including through data analysis. You apply critical thinking and reasoned judgment to reach sound conclusions.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $104,000- $122,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
