This role contributes to the overall success of Physical Security / Enterprise Corporate Security globally by setting and governing security operating standards across multiple sites, ensuring security programs, contract guarding services, procedures, and vendor-delivered security systems are executed and maintained to support business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Implement physical security controls and standards to safeguard Bank's premises and provide consultation to business units on best practices. Conduct risk assessments by working closely with internal and external partners to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities and mitigate identified risks to protect the Bank's assets.
  • Set the global guarding operating standard for multi-site security services, defining expectations for coverage models, conduct, performance, and service quality. Own and maintain global security procedures (post orders/SOPs) for access control, visitor management, patrols, key/card control, contractor management, and escalation protocols; ensure local site adoption.
  • Govern guard vendor performance across sites through defined KPIs/SLAs, audits, post checks, service reviews, and corrective actions to drive consistent outcomes.
  • Support employee preparedness campaigns for physical security incidents by providing workplace safety training, conducting education campaigns, and providing resources.
  • Set operational standards for security systems and equipment (e.g., CCTV, access control, alarms, intercoms, gates/turnstiles), including availability, configuration baselines, and operating practices. Manage vendor-delivered maintenance and repairs for security systems across sites, including ticket governance, prioritization, verification of work completed, and documentation closeout.
  • Oversee vendor-delivered installations and upgrades across sites, including planning, site readiness, change control, commissioning/acceptance testing, and operational handover.
  • Ensure global and regional compliance with applicable regulations, licensing requirements (where applicable), contractual obligations, and internal security policies, support audits and inspections.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

  • High degree of fluency in English required; French/Spanish desirable.
  • Physical Security Professional (PSP), Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) considered assets.
  • Must possess valid G-class or equivalent Driver's License
  • Minimum 5 years of security or relevant industry experience considered an asset
  • Development and delivery of training programs and awareness campaigns
  • Familiarity with industry security measures, current innovations/technologies, and applications
