Position Summary

Brookfield Credit is seeking a Manager, Controllership and Treasury to oversee controllership, treasury operations, financial consolidations, and operational accounting across the credit platform. The role is responsible for overseeing financial reporting and consolidations, preparing technical accounting memoranda, strengthening internal controls, supporting management reporting, leading treasury activities, and driving operational excellence across the finance organization.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires an entrepreneurial mindset. The successful candidate will play a key role in building a solid foundation for Brookfield Credit's finance operations by establishing scalable processes, developing best practices, and implementing appropriate controls in an environment where many procedures continue to evolve. The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, comfortable working through ambiguity, and capable of independently identifying issues, developing solutions, and executing strategic and operational initiatives.
Controllership, Financial Reporting & Consolidation
  • Provide guidance to the controllership team for quarter-end and annual financial close across multiple legal entities.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial consolidations, including intercompany eliminations and consolidation adjustments.
  • Prepare financial analysis, management reporting, and presentation materials to support senior leadership's decision-making and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment and ensure compliance with Brookfield accounting policies and applicable accounting standards (IFRS and/or U.S. GAAP).
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors and support audit requests.
  • Lead initiatives to improve financial reporting, consolidation processes, and operational effectiveness.
  • Participate in special projects, strategic initiatives, and ad hoc analyses in support of evolving business priorities.
Technical Accounting
  • Research complex accounting issues and prepare technical accounting memoranda supporting significant transactions.
  • Evaluate accounting implications of investments, restructurings, acquisitions, dispositions, and treasury activities.
Treasury Operations
  • Oversee day-to-day treasury operations for Brookfield Credit entities
  • Manage banking relationships, account administration, payment approvals, cash positioning, and liquidity management.
  • Review and approve wire transfers and treasury transactions in accordance with internal control policies.
  • Coordinate funding activities, capital calls, distributions, and intercompany cash movements.
  • Develop and implement best practices for treasury operations to improve efficiency, scalability, and control.
Accounts Payable Oversight
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex Accounts Payable issues and payment exceptions.
  • Partner with AP teams and business stakeholders to resolve vendor inquiries, payment delays, banking issues, and operational challenges.
  • Monitor outstanding items and drive timely resolution of aged transactions.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline AP workflows and strengthen operational controls.
Systems, Process Improvement & Microsoft Dynamics
  • Act as a business owner for Microsoft Dynamics Finance processes related to treasury, accounts payable, and controllership.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve system utilization.
Leadership, Training & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop members of the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and deliver training on treasury operations, financial close, internal controls, and Microsoft Dynamics best practices.
