What is the opportunity?

An exciting and fulfilling opportunity where you will execute peer benchmarking research, reporting, and analysis in RBC Capital Markets (RBC CM) Performance Management Finance. The role will provide data and insights to senior leadership by synthesising financial results, drivers, strategy, and KPIs for RBC CM's global peer group. The position supports executive level decision-making, strategic planning, and performance improvement initiatives.

What will you do?
  • Research, analyse and interpret financial performance across peers, while identifying trends, performance drivers, and best practices
  • Design and maintain robust data models leveraging tools including SQL, Python, AI, and digital platforms to ensure data integrity and analytical accuracy
  • Partner with the Technology team to envision and implement transformative solutions for sourcing and visualizing benchmarking data, with emphasis on automation and enhanced data quality insights
  • Generate executive insights and reporting, translating complex analysis into clear strategic takeaways, while crafting CEO/CFO presentation materials with a focus on storytelling
  • Provide benchmarking insights in support of strategic planning, business unit performance reviews, cost optimization initiatives, and capital allocation decision-making
  • Monitor competitors' strategies, financial results, and market positioning by performing industry research with the objective of tracking emerging trends affecting competitive dynamics
  • Partner with Finance, Strategy, Investor Relations, and business heads in sharing data-driven findings and influencing strategic decisions


What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • Undergraduate University Degree (in Finance, Economics or Business)
  • Experience with data analytics tools (Python and SQL) and AI applications, and strong data management skills
  • Executive communication with excellent oral and written presentation skills
  • Ability to build strong inter-dependent relationships across functions
  • Investigative, innovative, creative, and analytical mindset
  • Motivated to excel in a high-pressure, high-reward environment
  • Organizational skills and ability to multi-task

  • Professional designation (CPA, CFA) or MBA
