The successful candidate will contribute to the overall success of Scotia iTRADE, ensuring that internal teams and partners are well connected to all key strategic initiatives, projects, and programs while keeping client success central to all changes introduced by the business.

Key Accountabilities:

Communications
  • Initiate plans to elevate and evolve internal communication for effective employee engagement in support of Scotia iTRADE's overall business objectives and strategic goals.
  • Create key communication pieces including internal announcements, PowerPoint presentations, internal reference guides ensuring consistency of the Scotia iTRADE brand and voice.
  • Work within communication governance framework to coordinate and maintain communication approvals and archives.
  • Copy writing for client communications, including email, intercept messages and web copy where needed.
  • Assist in the management of a quarterly communication calendar.


Change Management
  • Working with the Senior Manager, Communications & Change Management and Scotia iTRADE department leads, support the successful end-to-end implementation of key change initiatives (including but not limited to, stakeholder impacts, defining success criteria, management of change plan, tactics for awareness, knowledge and sustainment).
  • Partner with product owners to develop change management/communications plans including work back schedules and key tactics.
  • Collaborate with department leads to embed change into daily operation of Scotia iTRADE to sustain change management initiatives for long-term success.


Employee and Partner Engagement
  • Build employee engagement, anchoring team contributions to Scotia iTRADE's overall strategy and vision, including managing communications for recognition programs and other initiatives that drive an inclusive and positive work environment for all colleagues.
  • Support and plan full department events (e.g., Town Halls, Roadshows) focused on strategy and project communications and the organization of priority leadership meetings with key stakeholders and team members.
  • Champions a client focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.


Executive and Partner Updates
  • Develop and iterate business summary and result dashboards for partners and business leadership.
  • Comfortable communicating with senior leadership in both verbal and written modes.
  • Regularly organizing and managing business and partner meetings.

Other responsibilities:
  • Act as delegate on behalf of Senior Manager, Communications & Change Management when required for meetings.
  • Other ad hoc project work as required from time to time.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.


Education / Experience:
  • 3+ years of related experience, primarily in project and change management, communications
  • Business Writing or Copywriting with ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences in a variety of formats (text, charts, infographic)
  • Strong presentation skills, editing, proofreading, layout and design skills
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Strong organizational skills, project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to initiate change projects, document impact assessments, draft key messages from scratch
  • Contribute to effective and collaborative relationships within the business, with partners and support areas
  • Knowledge of SharePoint Modern Experience an asset
  • Graphic Design skills considered an asset
  • Bilingual (French/English) language skills is an asset
