The Role

The communications team at Netflix is hiring a Manager to support our Ads, Partnerships, and Marketing organizations and help drive compelling external narratives about our business.

Over the last four years, Netflix has been providing consumers with a lower-cost option while driving revenue for the business, as our advertisers have been excited by our series, films, and live events, as well as Netflix's competitive tech offering. In 2027, we will expand to 27 ad-supported countries, as our teams work closely with partners to connect their brands to our broad and highly engaged audience, while improving and enhancing our ads experience (for both members and advertisers alike). This position will help tell the story of our advertising and partnership business externally and how Netflix collaborates with brands across the service.

Our ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a strong communicator, and a relationship builder who can be a trusted partner and adviser to teams across multiple disciplines. The candidate will also be a valuable conduit to our Product & Technology team, curating strong narratives for our advertising technology and innovation. This role will create and manage communications strategies, including pitches, announcements, and executive comms (closely partnering with our Ads and Partnerships senior leaders). They will also streamline Netflix's internal and external B2B narrative across materials and serve as a press representative for Netflix's business.

Key to this role is being creative and proactive, making sound decisions, and exercising sound judgment even in the face of ambiguity. Additionally, the role requires a collaborative team player who is resourceful, optimistic, and solution-oriented.

This role is based in New York or Los Angeles, and reports to the Director, Communications - Advertising.

Responsibilities

  • Build and elevate the external narrative around Netflix's advertising and partnership business.

  • Identify impactful story angles, craft pitches, and secure stories centered around Netflix’s advertising and partnership capabilities.

    • Create a unified B2B narrative around our ad product and innovation that holds across pitches, executive comms, and briefing materials

  • Execute communications plans, announcements, briefing materials, and messaging documents

  • Develop and nurture media relationships, with a deep understanding of the regional press landscape and targeted pitching strategies.

  • Own the comms bridge and ensure messaging consistency between Ads & Partnerships and Product & Technology, with particular focus on ad tech innovation and AI-driven ads capabilities.

  • Work cross-functionally to drive efforts forward across Ads, Partnerships, and Marketing teams; autonomously manage cross-functional relationships.

  • Serve as a trusted comms advisor to senior leadership, acting as an "informed captain" on judgment calls in ambiguity.

  • Raise the team's collective capability by applying and sharing AI-driven approaches to reputation monitoring, pitching, drafting, and workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate communications

  • Working media relationships at traditional and emerging trade, entertainment, consumer, and business outlets

  • Clear and concise communication style; strong written and verbal skills that can effectively convey complex ideas

  • Comfort translating technical or product-driven concepts (e.g., ad tech, agentic AI tools) into clear external narratives, partnering effectively with product and technology communications counterparts

  • Experience handling a high volume of complex projects and tasks for multiple people and teams while simultaneously managing competing priorities

  • Meticulous organizational skills, good judgment of brand and comms risks, and effective time management

  • A curious and ambitious self-starter with an interest in what drives conversation and how Netflix can be at the forefront of ads innovation.

  • Have a point of view, and be able to offer a unique perspective and voice.
