As Manager, Client Sustainability, you will help advance Sun Life's Sustainability strategy by translating sustainability research, Client insights, and business priorities into proactive engagement strategies and communications in support of long-term business value.
This role plays a key part in advancing our Client sustainability workstream and sits at the intersection of sustainability, strategy, and business development. You will help identify Client sustainability priorities and support engagement with Clients including the development of communication materials to respond to Client requests. This role will also support broader sustainability reporting and disclosure activities, as required.
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong communication, analytical and strategic thinking skills, coupled with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders and support business outcomes. This is a hybrid role requiring presence at our 1 York office on a regular basis and reports to the Director, Client Sustainability and Regulatory Reporting and Disclosures.
What will you do?- Conduct research and analysis on Client sustainability priorities, goals, and emerging market trends to inform decisions and prioritization.
- Develop insights and recommendations to support Client engagement and business development.
- Support the collection, analysis and internal reporting of Client sustainability data and insights, through scorecards, dashboards and key performance metrics.
- Create Client-ready sustainability communications and presentations.
- Respond to Client sustainability requests, including RFPs, questionnaires, and ad hoc information requests, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain and enhance standardized sustainability responses to enable consistent, high-quality, and effective Client engagement.
- Assist with sustainability reporting and disclosure activities, as needed.
What do you need to succeed?- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in sustainability, strategy, business development, or a related field.
- Experience in insurance, asset management, financial services, or knowledge of Sun Life's Group and Institutional Client businesses is an asset.
- Client-focused mindset and interest in connecting sustainability insights to business value.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into practical insights and recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate sustainability topics into clear, compelling, and Client-ready materials.
- Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills, with experience working across teams and influencing stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with ESG or sustainability-related topics is an asset.
The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
