Job DescriptionWe are looking for Manager, Casting. The Manager, Casting owns the full scope of people leadership for their team - recruitment, retention, development, and day-to-day performance. This role carries independent operational accountability, direct ownership of hiring decisions, and responsibility for building a team that consistently delivers for clients. The Manager is an active part of a unified leadership team across all Central Casting offices, sharing staff, resources, and accountability for outcomes across regions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Oversee and lead a team of casting employees and day-to-day operations, including assigning tasks, setting deadlines, providing guidance, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Collaborate with senior managers to assign television shows and/or feature films to Casting Directors, developing a working understanding of workload balance, show complexity, client preferences, and casting partner assignments.
- Set clear performance expectations and hold the team accountable through regularly scheduled 1:1 meetings, performance reviews, and timely, constructive feedback.
- Conduct daily and weekly huddles with casting teams, ensuring the team is informed about priorities, operational updates, and relevant changes.
- Actively seek and respond to team suggestions and ideas, involve team members in decisions that affect their work, and elevate feedback and concerns to senior management.
- Serve as a coach for employees, supporting morale and motivation, conducting periodic engagement surveys, and ensuring concerns are addressed appropriately.
- Participate in hiring decisions with a focus on identifying candidates who bring both the right skills and strong cultural fit.
- Participate in the onboarding, mentoring, discipline, and performance management of employees per company guidelines.
- Authorize employee timecards and monitor overtime, absenteeism, and vacation time.
- Use team performance data and metrics to identify trends, flag issues, and inform coaching conversations.
- Embrace a cross-regional mindset by treating all casting staff regardless of office or market as shared resources, and supporting flexible staffing and coverage across regions as needed.
- Participate in workflow standardization initiatives, adopting and reinforcing consistent processes across offices to support scalable, unified operations.
- Schedule Visiting sessions with Casting Directors as speakers.
- Provide occasional after-hours and weekend support to both clients and staff and maintain accessibility via phone or email.
- Own capacity planning for the team including workload distribution, shift coverage, and resource planning across projects.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients as a management-level point of contact.
- Demonstrate excellent meeting and facilitation skills, fostering participation and collaboration in both small and large group settings.
- Maintain solid working knowledge of SAG-AFTRA contracts and adult and child state and federal labor laws.
- Work flexible hours as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of management experience in a client service or operations environment.
- Demonstrated experience in the casting or entertainment industry.
- Robust background in customer service with progressive client-facing experience.
- Proven track record of building and developing teams with a focus on performance and culture.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform decisions and drive results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to set clear expectations, facilitate across groups, and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism when handling sensitive and/or proprietary information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Zoom).
- Ability to work flexible hours as required by business needs.

The salary range for this position in $95,000 to $110,000 and will be commensurate with experience related to the position.
