The Opportunity:

The Strategic Solutions team helps Sovereign turn strategy into action. We partner across the organization to drive strategic planning, business transformation, portfolio management, operational improvement, and enterprise change initiatives. By bringing together business insight, structured execution, and innovative thinking, we help leaders solve complex challenges, deliver meaningful outcomes, and build the capabilities needed for long-term success. As Manager, Business Solutions you will lead a team of business solutions professionals while acting as a champion for continuous improvement and execution excellence within the organization. This role would support different business areas throughout the life cycle of a strategic initiative - opportunity identification, design, development & deployment of the initiative, sustaining the benefit and monitoring success. This role is critical to the next 4-year strategy in ramping up cross functional execution excellence.
This role is a strong collaborator who effectively works with peers and leadership at all levels to ensure optimal alignment of strategic and operational priorities while effectively managing resource capacity and budgetary constraints.

How you will create impact:

  • Managing complex strategic business projects across all phases, while influencing stakeholders and following change management best practices to drive sustainable strategic change
  • Leading the execution of the project management evolution roadmap, ensure a consistent project delivery framework and governance is applied across all projects and initiatives within Sovereign
  • Training and coaching a team of business solutions professionals to manage projects role modeling execution excellence
  • Partnering with the other leads within the team embed the appropriate capabilities in every project including insurance subject matter expertise, business analysis, business optimization, change management, automations etc.
  • Acting as a liaison with the Enterprise Project Management Office to align on governance and best practices Leading, as required, cross functional teams in the end-to-end delivery of business optimization projects to identify process, capacity, KPI, metric, tool, and improvement opportunities that support strategic goals of efficiency and execution excellence, utilizing structured methodologies such as design thinking, customer journey mapping, and Lean Six Sigma.
  • Engaging and collaborating with cross functional teams to cohesively execute all phases of strategic change initiatives.
  • Coaching, developing, recruiting, and selecting talent, while managing and rewarding performance and fostering an agile culture to deliver strategic objectives.

To join our team:

  • A post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • Certification in project management (PMP) is required, PROSCI, Lean Six Sigma or other business optimization certification is an asset
  • You have a total of at least 7-10 years of experience including 3-5 years of leadership experience in project management, business optimization, transformation office or equivalent function.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting organizations within the insurance or financial services sector, with the ability to navigate complex and highly regulated environments.
  • Strong project management, change management, and business readiness skills are core to success in this role, along with excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience providing project management support to meet delivery and financial commitments, and driving team development plans that produce measurable, quantifiable improvements in performance.
  • Expert at MS suite of products PowerPoint, MS project, Co-pilot. Experience using Gen AI productivity tools for project management and other day to day tasks.

  • This position will operate on a hybrid work posture which will require an in-office presence of at least twice a week.

Salary information

"Expected salary/hourly range $91,058 - $141,000" (min-max, full range)

Salary placement

"The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Sovereign in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education."

Incentive/Variable pay

"Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics."
