Overview

The Manager, Brand Marketing, Basketball for Foot Locker, will serve as a strategic leader within the Brand Marketing organization, responsible for shaping and executing initiatives that deepen Foot Locker's connection to Basketball & Sneaker culture. Working closely with the Director of Marketing, this individual will execute the end-to-end campaign strategy, partnership relationships, and cross-functional alignment across brand, retail, and digital channels. This role requires a highly strategic, solutions-oriented thinker with strong leadership and communication skills who can balance creative vision with operational excellence. The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, and passionate about driving cultural relevance and business impact through sport.

Responsibilities

  • Basketball Category Expertise: Leverage deep knowledge of basketball, sports culture, athletes, and fandom to identify emerging trends and cultural moments, translating them into timely, relevant marketing campaigns and consumer experiences.
  • Strategic Brand Leadership: Drive the development and execution of the annual sports marketing strategy, connecting brand storytelling, basketball culture, and commercial priorities across Foot Locker's ecosystem.
  • Campaign Development: Oversee concept development and creative execution for basketball-related campaigns, ensuring integration across digital, experiential, and retail touchpoints.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams-including Creative, VM, Retail Marketing, and Social-to ensure seamless execution and measurement of campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and sell-through.
  • Partnership and Budget Management: Lead external partnership relationships, scopes of work, and creative development processes; manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables with accountability and precision.
  • Brand Strategy Alignment: Ensure all sports marketing programs ladder up to Foot Locker's strategic basketball pillars and reflect our positioning as The Home Court for Young Hoopers.
  • Performance Reporting & Insights: Define success metrics, measure campaign performance, and translate learnings into actionable insights to optimize future initiatives.
  • Product & Campaign Integration: Partner closely with Merchandising to identify priority basketball products, signature launches, mapping them to the marketing calendar and translating them into consumer-facing stories and moments.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sports marketing or related role, with a proven track record of managing successful campaigns and partnerships
  • Strong understanding of the sports industry, including knowledge of sponsorships, fan engagement, and media relations
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external partners (agencies, vendors, sports organizations)
  • Confident manager and problem-solver with ability to work in a deadline driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
  • Passion for basketball and sneakers

Benefits

The annual base salary range is $82,000-$90,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
