Manager, Advocacy – Hybrid

The Job:
As a Manager, Advocacy, you’ll be part of our Corporate Affairs team working as a hybrid employee. You’ll get to:
- Executes the company’s integrated advocacy strategy bringing together government relations, political engagement, strategic philanthropy, stakeholder engagement, and communications to strengthen the company’s influence, reputation, and relationships with key stakeholders.
- Based in Washington, DC and reporting to the Corporate Affairs team, this role partners across the organization to execute advocacy initiatives, manage strategic programs, support executive engagement, cultivate external partnerships, and communicate Stanley Black & Decker’s priorities and impact to internal and external audiences.
- The ideal candidate is a proactive relationship builder and strategic communicator with exceptional organizational skills, sound business judgment, and the drive to execute complex initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Lead the day-to-day management of the Stanley Black & Decker Political Action Committee (SBD-PAC), including fundraising, compliance, reporting, vendor management, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders including the SBD-PAC Board.
- Manage the company’s strategic philanthropy portfolio, including charitable giving budgets, contract negotiation, nonprofit partnerships, governance, financial reporting, and impact measurement.
- Support Stanley Black & Decker’s integrated advocacy strategy by coordinating advocacy initiatives, following the external policy environment, preparing executive briefings, and supporting engagement with policymakers, trade associations, and external partners.
- Develop executive presentations, talking points, briefing materials, and stakeholder communications that support leadership engagement and ensure consistent messaging across advocacy initiatives.
- Partner across Corporate Affairs, Communications, Finance, Legal, HR, Commercial teams, and business leaders to execute integrated advocacy initiatives and strengthen stakeholder engagement including with employees.
- Support executive meetings, external events, coalition activities, and community partnerships that advance Stanley Black & Decker’s business priorities and reputation.
- Manage multiple cross-functional initiatives while continuously improving processes and driving operational excellence.

- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of experience in advocacy, government affairs, corporate affairs, communications, political engagement, philanthropy, or a related field.
- Experience supporting advocacy initiatives, stakeholder engagement, government affairs, PACs, corporate philanthropy, or strategic programs preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience managing budgets or complex programs preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.

The Salary range for this position is $77,600.00 - $124,900.00
This is the lowest to highest annual full-time salary range we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The salary offered within the range may vary depending on multiple factors including job level, geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and in compliance with local wage requirements.
