JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:

The Management Analyst will provide strategic, operational, and administrative support to ensure effective program execution and laboratory operations within the NCATS Division of Preclinical Innovation (DPI). The ideal candidate will support scientific administration, communications, procurement activities, and project coordination while ensuring alignment with NIH/NCATS priorities and operational objectives. This role requires strong analytical, organizational, communication, and program management skills with the ability to support multiple initiatives in a fast-paced federal research environment.
• Prepare and provide monthly budget reports, meeting summaries, and status updates for internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead compilation, analysis, and organization of scientific, operational, and programmatic information.
• Conduct data analysis and support development of reports, presentations, and strategic communications.
• Create and maintain internal and external communications materials including reports, summaries, emails, briefing materials, and website content.
• Develop periodic and ad hoc reports by researching records, files, background materials, and reference sources.
• Attend and participate in multidisciplinary research meetings, workshops, and conferences.
• Prepare briefing documents, executive summaries, and comprehensive meeting notes.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate technical meetings and consultations involving scientific and administrative stakeholders.
• Support short- and long-range planning initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and objectives.
• Assist with project planning and implementation activities including workshop coordination, communication strategies, resource evaluation, and report preparation/editing.
• Support procurement and acquisitions activities including purchasing workflows, vendor coordination, documentation review, and compliance tracking.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and administrative guidance materials.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities and monitor timelines to support efficient program execution.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive scientific, personnel, procurement, and operational information.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/EXPERTISE REQUIREMENT:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Health Sciences, Management, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience providing program, project, or operational support within a federal or scientific research environment.
• Experience supporting NIH/NCATS administrative, operational, or scientific programs.
• Strong knowledge of federal acquisitions, procurement processes, and FAR-related compliance requirements.
• Experience with program management, workflow coordination, and process improvement initiatives.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical and executive-level writing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe tools, Atlassian tools, and federal administrative systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• U.S. Citizenship.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/EXPERTISE:
• Experience supporting NCATS or other NIH Institutes and Centers.
• Familiarity with scientific research administration and laboratory operations support.
• Experience developing SOPs, executive briefings, and strategic communications materials.
• Experience supporting procurement documentation, vendor coordination, and audit readiness activities.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and operational performance tracking.
• Experience coordinating stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration initiatives.
