Malware and Cyber Threats Analyst II National Cyber Forensics & Training Alliance (NCFTA) Location: Pittsburgh, PA We are seeking an Intelligence Analyst II to join our Malware and Cyber Threats team. This role is ideal for a cyber threat professional who enjoys researching emerging threats, connecting intelligence across multiple sources, and communicating findings to diverse audiences. Success in this position requires strong analytical thinking, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and a proactive approach to solving problems. This is a highly collaborative role where analysts work closely with internal teams, industry partners, law enforcement, and member organizations to identify threats, produce actionable intelligence, and support disruption efforts. What You'll Do - Research and analyze cyber threats including malware, ransomware, threat actors, botnets, fraud operations, breaches, and emerging cybercrime trends. - Track threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and assess their impact on member organizations and industry sectors. - Identify patterns, connections, and intelligence gaps across multiple sources of information. - Produce high-quality intelligence products, including reports, briefs, alerts, and strategic assessments. - Present findings and lead discussions with industry, law enforcement, and member organizations. - Support collaborative intelligence-sharing efforts and help coordinate investigations across sectors. - Analyze large datasets to identify trends, threats, and actionable intelligence opportunities. What We're Looking For - Two or more years of experience in cyber threat intelligence, cyber investigations, cybersecurity, intelligence analysis, or a related field. - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate complex information and draw meaningful conclusions. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience producing intelligence products and briefing both technical and non-technical audiences. - Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and proactively identify research opportunities, intelligence gaps, and emerging threats. - Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with teammates, partners, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. - Experience researching threat actors, cybercrime activity, malware, fraud, or related cybersecurity topics. - Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound professional judgment. - Commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with cyber threat intelligence platforms, OSINT research, and investigative tools. - Familiarity with malware analysis concepts, digital investigations, or incident response. - Understanding of the cyber threat landscape, including APTs, cybercriminal ecosystems, and emerging threats. - Experience producing intelligence reports for operational, tactical, or strategic audiences. - Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Criminal Justice, Intelligence Studies, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
