Our Defense division in Salt Lake City, UT is looking to welcome a skilled Maintenance Technician - Electrical Systems and Automation to our dynamic team! This Maintenance Technician - Electrical Systems and Automation will be an electrical expert, reporting to the Facilities Manager and play a critical role in ensuring facilities/manufacturing systems and equipment are running optimally.

As our Maintenance Technician - Electrical Systems and Automation, you will make critical contributions by holding responsibility for:
  • Maintains equipment and performs preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled.
  • Read schematics (including electrical, pneumatic, and chemical drawings) and troubleshoot/repair complex industrial mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Installs and repairs of electrical apparatus such as transformers and wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment; Connects wire to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and fuses.
  • Overhauls machines or equipment, replaces/repairs defective parts, machine components and motors, and make adjustments as required.
  • Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.
  • Removes dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.
  • Clears clogged drains and replaces plumbing fixtures; Install plumbing for industrial systems.
  • Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Program or monitor PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers)
  • Maintains access control, security and fire alarm systems


To be considered for the Maintenance Technician - Electrical Systems and Automation role, you will need to bring with you:
  • HS Diploma/GED is required; additional education/training from a 2-year vocational/technical school is desired
  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician or at least 7+ years' experience in a maintenance related role within a complex manufacturing environment
  • Ideally has prior experience with PLC's and maintaining access/security/fire alarm systems
  • Ability to use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
