How you'll make an impact in this role- Workload Management: Monitor and manage daily mainframe job schedules using CA ESP to ensure the timely and accurate completion of critical batch processing cycles.
- Incident Resolution: Respond to user problems and system alerts by listening, clarifying, and providing effective, timely technical resolutions. Troubleshooting: Independently troubleshoot application problems, including identifying and resolving job abends, batch failures, and scheduling conflicts.
- Process Automation: Analyze operational workflows to automate repetitive mainframe tasks and optimize scheduling configurations, contributing to overall system efficiency.
- Documentation: Write and maintain clear, concise documentation for operational procedures, system standards, and rerun instructions to support the team's knowledge sharing.
- On-call Support: Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, providing coverage every third week to ensure 24/7 operational support.
What minimum requirements you'll needEducation:
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
What additional preferences we're seeking- Hands-on experience with CA ESP, CA View/Deliver, or similar mainframe workload automation and scheduling tools.
- Working knowledge of Mainframe z/OS, JCL, and experience automating processes using scripting languages such as REXX, CLIST, or JCL scripting.
