OverviewNelson Mullins is seeking talented and motivated Litigation Attorneys with 1-5 years of experience to join its nationally recognized Defense Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on sophisticated toxic tort, and occupational exposure matters for a diverse portfolio of clients while collaborating with experienced litigators across the firm's national platform.
About the Role
As a member of our Defense Team, you will represent manufacturers, distributors, contractors, and other corporate defendants in complex silicosis and toxic tort litigation. Attorneys in this practice play a key role in all phases of case management, from fact investigation and discovery through motion practice, expert development, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
A Day in the Life
Responsibilities
- Manage and defend silicosis and toxic tort litigation matters.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery.
- Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses, plaintiffs, and experts.
- Develop case strategy in collaboration with partners and clients.
- Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Work closely with expert witnesses and consultants on medical and scientific issues.
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide strategic legal counsel.
We Know You
You haveat least one yearof meaningful experience incomplex litigation matters, including products liability, in a mid-size or large law firm setting. You27re prepared to draft and argue discovery and other motions, take and defend depositions, manage document productions, and bring an entrepreneurial spirit to a growing office. You possess exceptional oral and written advocacy skills with strong academic credentials. You are looking to gain significant trial experience. You are adept in case management, ready to take the lead, andare admitted to and in good standing with the California Bar.
- At Nelson Mullins, we are dedicated to transparent and fair compensation practices. Pay for this position is determined by factors such as experience, skills, and location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for performance bonuses and benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off.
- In either its Los Angeles or Torrance offices, the salary/wage range is $185,000 - $235,000 annually.
