Full Job Description
The opportunity

Kin Insurance continues to grow; as we expand into territories we haven't been to before, we are looking for an experienced Licensed Sales Manager to help continue to build and lead our sales teams. Our Sales Managers play a key role in the growth and success of Kin.

As a Sales Manager, you will help to hire, develop, and manage our front-line Sales Agents through strategic mentoring to guide them toward achieving sales targets and goals. Because we are a cross-functional organization, you will partner with other departments to ensure your team has the tools they need to be successful. As we change the way our customers purchase insurance and interact with their agents, we value your point of view and expertise on areas of improvement that we can bring to our teams.

Your responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing strategic sales plans to achieve company goals and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly quotas.
  • Thoughtfully coaching, empowering, and engaging 12-14 diverse Kin Sales Agents in a "call-center" environment
  • Meeting/exceeding target performance plan and objective standards for our agents
  • Providing data reporting, analysis, and tracking of team sales performance and individual Agent performance
  • Establishing productive and professional relationships with key personnel in other departments
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive product development and enhancements
  • Developing and implementing new sales initiatives, strategies, and programs to help drive production
  • Assisting in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new Sales Agents

Success in this role

In your first 6-12 months at Kin, success is less about checking boxes and more about the impact you create. You'll use your skills and judgment to take ownership of meaningful work, improve how we operate, and help move Kin's mission forward. Along the way, you will deliver outcomes that make a real difference for both Kinfolk and the homeowners we serve. By the end of your first year, you should feel confident in your role, trusted as an owner, and proud of the progress you've helped make.
  • Ability to acclimate to Kin's systems, tools, and processes while successfully overseeing a group of experienced insurance Sales Agents
  • Capability to consistently understand, explain, and drive call-center metrics while finding coaching opportunities, celebrating team wins, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

What you'll bring
  • 5+ years of sales experience with 2+ years of managing Sales Agents
  • You possess an active Property and Casualty (P&C) or Personal Lines (PL) license
  • Consistent track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals and performance metrics
  • Mastery of the insurance sales process from beginning to end with the ability to train and enhance internal processes
  • Proficiency with sales software (CRM), reporting tools, and using data to help drive decisions
  • Dedication to understanding agent and customer needs and delivering tailored solutions that focus on both needs
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment by maintaining a genuine positive and collaborative attitude

Shift & Training Requirements

    • 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM CST

How we work

We don't just hire for skills. We hire for alignment. Kinfolk bring diverse perspectives, but we're united by a shared set of values that shape how we work and how we show up for each other and our customers.

Run through walls, together - Every one of us is responsible for creating the culture we want to work in. High performance. Low drama. Always respectful. We assume the best in each other and challenge ideas, not intentions. We show up, work hard, and play to each other's strengths - because that's how great teams win.

Raise the bar. Drop the ego - Attitudes are contagious. Every one of us is responsible for creating the culture we want to work in. High performance. Low drama. Always respectful. Like professional sports teams, we win by working in sync. We show up, work hard, and play to each other's strengths.

Act like an owner - We are owners, fully accountable for achieving Kin's mission. That requires positive, proactive, big-picture thinking well beyond our job descriptions. Ask questions, Take ownership. Do the right thing, even when it's hard. Because when Kin thrives, so do you. And so do our customers.

Operate lean. Deliver more - We build efficiency into everything we do. Each dollar we save gets reinvested to deliver more to our customers: better pricing, more products, and new innovations. We work smarter by relentlessly prioritizing and using technology, including AI, to multiply our impact. Lean is about focus, not deprivation. Lean isn't a limitation - it's our competitive advantage.

Keep asking 'What if?' - We value curiosity. To make insurance better for our customers, we experiment. We embrace insights. And we base decisions on data rather than assumptions. We see setbacks as opportunities for growth and are always learning and improving. Both individually and as a company.
