Description
The Lean Manufacturing Manager is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations, with a primary focus on eliminating workflow bottlenecks, optimizing operational efficiency, and enhancing overall production performance. This role champions lean principles, fosters cross-functional communication, and ensures high standards of quality and strategic planning are consistently met.
Responsibilities
Lean Strategy & Continuous Improvement
• Lead the implementation and sustainability of lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping).
• Identify, analyze, and eliminate workflow bottlenecks to improve throughput and reduce waste.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement across all levels of the organization.
Operational Efficiency
• Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs), including cycle time, throughput, downtime, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Optimize production workflows to ensure efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment.
• Collaborate with production teams to streamline processes and reduce non-value-added activities.
Workflow & Bottleneck Management
• Conduct regular process audits and value stream analyses to identify constraints.
• Develop and implement solutions to remove production barriers and improve flow.
• Partner with engineering and operations teams to redesign processes for scalability and efficiency.
Quality & Compliance
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Integrate quality control measures into lean processes to minimize defects and rework.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives.
Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Serve as a key liaison between production, engineering, quality, and leadership teams.
• Communicate improvement initiatives, progress, and results clearly and effectively.
• Train and coach team members on lean methodologies and best practices.
Planning & Execution
• Lead strategic planning for continuous improvement projects and operational initiatives.
• Develop project timelines, resource plans, and measurable goals.
• Ensure alignment between operational objectives and broader business strategy.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations with a focus on lean methodologies.
• Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and reducing waste.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Lean certification (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt) preferred.
