The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Lead Training Specialist for the training management team, courseware development, and/or training instruction, comprised of at least four (4) members, to promote the development of knowledge, skills, and abilities of assigned personnel through the establishment and management of formal training plans, training programs, and certification programs. Responsible for the development and management of assigned training and certification policies and programs to ensure compliance with organization, installation, Center, MAJCOM, and Air Force requirements. Manages training management systems and maintains organization training records to ensure training and required certification(s) are up to date and attained on time in accordance with regulations and policy. Performs technical and administrative team lead duties over employees on a regular and recurring basis for 25% or more of the time, identifying, distributing, assigning, and balancing workload and tasks amongst employees by skill level, proficiency and/or occupational specialization, making adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of subordinate work assignments. Serves as the training office Team Lead. Subject Matter Expert (SME) and on policies, laws, regulations, service agreements, and directives that govern education and training programs. Oversees resources which create a significant challenge impacting job specific training, technical and/or system specific in manner to a myriad of maintenance and professional occupations.
Requirements:
- Obtain & maintain a security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- May be required to travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft IAW the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) for training or mission accomplishment.
- May be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours.
- Required to handle and safeguard personnel training information to prevent potential compromise to the agency
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
1. Knowledge of military and civilian training programs and/or processes related to training programs, inclusive of certifications, in parallel business and industry organizations. Knowledge of the methods, principles, practices, and programs related to curriculum development, instructional techniques, and training resources, as well as the principles, techniques, and objectives of test and measurement.
2. Knowledge of basic budget preparation as it applies to preparing operating and capital expenditure training budgets. Ability to gather, develop, and analyze a variety of data and to make recommendations based on analysis.
3. Ability to utilize AoP principles and concepts to lead a team of subordinate personnel through coaching, communication, planning, organizing, and direction to facilitate work assignments.
4. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, lead a team, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques used in team building; establishing team performance goals and assessing team progress; and providing effective team training.
