The purpose of the position is to plan, organize and/or direct cyber, IT or information/knowledge management (IM) activities which comply with legal, regulatory, and AF/DoD-directed requirements and meet mission and customer needs and serve as senior technical advisor on cyber, IT, or IM activities. Performs services as a senior systems administrator: Plans, coordinates and installs applications software and hardware of operating systems. Provides technical guidance and instruction to users and other IT specialists. Prepares, coordinates and implements policy and procedures for hardware and software applications system operation. Serves as a senior technical advisor to management. Participates as a key member and advisor on special committees and special projects designed to study methods to enhance the use of information technology throughout the installation. Maintains liaison with manufactures, professional organizations and counterparts at other installations and services regarding available products and state-of-the-art technologies and advancements.

- This position may require work to be performed during hours outside the normal duty schedule.
- DoD Cyberspace Workforce Framework (DCWF) Qualification is a condition of employment. According to DoDM 8140.03, Chap 4, Para 4.4.1., personnel may be subject to administrative action if they do not obtain or maintain foundational requirements within nine months of assignment to a DCWF coded role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
1. Knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices for integrating information system components sufficient to plan, coordinate, and administer computer systems, and optimize system performance. Knowledge of the latest advancements in technology to initiate corrective or preventative action to ensure optimum performance of the system.
2. Knowledge of performance tuning tools, database management, and project management methods sufficient to optimize systems performance, troubleshoot database performance problems, and perform a wide range of systems administration functions.
3. Knowledge of operating systems, associated devices, and the interoperability of systems sufficient to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, test, and maintain those systems; to optimize the functionality and performance of systems; and to ensure the availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of servers.
4. Ability to apply methods and practices for troubleshooting, recovering, adjusting, modifying, and improving systems to solve complex problems, provide support that minimizes interruptions in service to customers, and maintain liaison with industry and other activities to provide awareness of state-of-the-art technology.
