Summary: Own the end-to-end systems administration of SMS/E-SMS/BRED/VTIME across physical/virtual infrastructure and Azure Government Cloud, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance
Responsibilities - Lead installation, configuration, performance tuning, and optimization for Windows/Linux servers and virtualized platforms across the enclave.
- Architect and administer Azure Gov resources (VMs, App Services, SQL) aligned to DISA, AR 25-2, and NIST 800-53 Rev. 5.
- Direct patching and updates for servers, network devices, and VM infrastructure; enforce DoD IA standards and respond to IAVM, STIG, SCAP, ACAS, and CERT directives.
- Own backup and recovery strategy (full/differential/incremental cadence; off-site storage; restore testing with documented verification).
- Develop logical/physical network diagrams; maintain PPSM documentation; optimize connectivity across the enclave and BUILDER (SMS) customer community.
- Provide SME input for COOP planning; chair/participate in CCBs and enterprise architecture discussions.
- Lead SysOps workflows and ticketing (GitLab); oversee monthly reporting and change management processes.
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance; CompTIA Security+.
- Demonstrated leadership in mixed on-prem/cloud DoD environments
- Strong documentation skills (SOPs, diagrams, POA&Ms) and familiarity with RMF/eMASS.
