Full Job Description
Position Purpose:

The Lead Decision Analyst within Services Online Analytics serves as a data strategy consultant and senior analytical partner for the Home Services online portfolio. This role works cross-functionally with Product Managers, UX, Merchants, Marketing, and Data Engineering/Science teams to evaluate the success of web content upgrades, design experimentation frameworks, design/maintain analytics pipelines and deliver actionable insights that reduce customer friction and grow the online lead-generation funnel.

This role puts on a Product Manager hat for analytics - defining what analytical solutions are needed for the problems being solved, not just executing requests. The Lead Analyst partners closely with the Analytics Engineer to define pipeline architecture on Dataform, collaborates with Data Science/Engineering to ensure robust and accurate data pipelines, and mentors Senior Analysts and Analysts on the team. They bring strong knowledge of online clickstream analytics, A/B testing and causal inference, and an emerging understanding of AI-based storytelling and automated insights (e.g., MCP servers, LLM-generated narratives) to continuously elevate the team's analytical maturity.

The role supports numerous new data initiatives across the Services Online portfolio - from service-provider performance tracking to self-scheduling pilot measurement to OKR dashboard development - ensuring leadership has consistent, reliable, and timely visibility into online performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • 20% - Business Collaboration - Leverage extensive business knowledge into solution approach. Effectively develop trust and collaboration with internal customers and cross-functional teams. Partner with Other Orgs to understand potential for new tools and ways to maintain technical agility for advanced analytics.
  • 25% - Project Management & Team Support - Lead and manage large and complex projects and teams. Provide direction on prioritization of work and ensure quality of work. Collaborate with managers and team in the distribution of workload and resources. Serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) on both predictive and prescriptive analytics. Drive effective Agile project delivery protocols to assure we gather and surface reliable, actionable enterprise level analytics. Ensure the team comprehends and applies the established processes and standards and mentor team on development.
  • 30% - Solution Development - Effectively communicate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical leaders and business customers/partners. Clearly communicate impacts of recommendations to drive alignment and appropriate implementation. Develops solutions to transform data into useful, actionable information.
  • 25% - Technical Exploration & Development - Guide and direct project teams in the requirements gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs. Provide technical education on advanced analytics to analytics community. Drive analytics teams to get matured in predictive and prescriptive analytics.

Physical Requirements:
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Analytics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related)
  • 7+ years of experience in data analytics, with at least 3 years focused on online/digital analytics or e-commerce
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL (BigQuery) for data analysis, pipelining, and reporting
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Analytics (or similar clickstream analytics platforms) for online behavioral analysis
  • Working knowledge of Python for data analysis and automation; ML modeling experience is advantageous but not required
  • Working knowledge of Tableau for data visualization and executive dashboarding
  • Strong understanding of A/B testing, causal inference, and hypothesis testing (z-test, t-test, chi-square, ANOVA, CausalImpact, difference-in-differences)
  • Understanding of Dataform and/or medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold) patterns is advantageous
  • Familiarity with AI-based storytelling and automated insights (MCP servers, LLM-generated narratives, Vertex AI) is advantageous
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, GCS, Vertex AI, Dataform)
  • Working knowledge of GitHub for version control
  • Experience with Jupyter Notebooks for exploratory analysis
  • Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and data visualization
  • Demonstrated expertise in translating analysis into effective presentations
  • Demonstrated expertise utilizing data analysis to identify key insights that help solve business problems
  • Manage requests and roadmaps for insights for the online merchandising, marketing, and leadership organizations
  • Ability to partner with requesting organizations to build KPI frameworks
  • Experience managing multiple projects and working in a fast-paced environment
  • Track record of defining analytical solutions for ambiguous business problems (product thinking)
