Lead QA Engineer

Location: Nashville, TN (Hybrid)

Overview:
The client is seeking a Lead QA Engineer to support enterprise and client-facing consulting initiatives in Nashville. This role will lead QA efforts across software, data, API, and enterprise application environments while helping drive scalable, high-performing delivery practices across both manual and automated testing initiatives.

The ideal candidate will bring strong QA automation leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and client leadership in fast-paced consulting environments. This person should be comfortable mentoring teams, improving QA processes, contributing to delivery strategy, and supporting modern testing frameworks across enterprise applications and cloud environments.

Key Requirements:
• 5+ years of QA automation experience
• Prior experience leading or mentoring QA teams
• Strong hands-on automation experience with Selenium, Cucumber, Postman, SoapUI, TestComplete, etc.
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner
• Strong understanding of SDLC, QA lifecycle, defect management, and testing strategy
• Experience with API, ETL, web application, cloud, and data testing
• Programming experience with Java, Python, or C#
• Strong SQL/database knowledge
• Experience working in Agile environments and CI/CD pipelines
• AWS and/or Azure cloud testing experience preferred

Responsibilities:
• Lead QA initiatives across multiple enterprise testing programs
• Develop and execute manual, automated, and performance testing strategies
• Mentor junior and mid-level QA engineers
• Partner with business stakeholders and engineering teams to improve delivery quality
• Participate across the full SDLC from planning through production support
• Drive QA governance, defect tracking, test planning, and reporting
• Support automation framework development and continuous improvement initiatives

Preferred Backgrounds:
• Consulting or client-facing QA leadership experience
• SDET Leads / QA Managers / QA Automation Architects
• Enterprise application and data testing environments
• Cloud-native and API-heavy application environments
• Candidates local to Nashville or open to hybrid onsite work strongly preferred
