The
Network Operations team at OpenText is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available network infrastructures across on-premises datacenters and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Focused on continuous improvement, the team monitors network health, troubleshoots complex hybrid environments, enforces best practices, and stays current with emerging networking and automation technologies to support OpenText's global enterprise operations.
Your Impact:This position has responsibility for reviewing, planning, and integrating acquired network environments into the organization's global network infrastructure. The role requires detailed technical knowledge of enterprise networking technologies, including campus, data center, WAN, SD-WAN, and cloud networking, with the ability to troubleshoot network elements end-to-end.
The position supports routing, switching, wireless, internet connectivity, SD-WAN circuits, and cloud network environments, and participates in design, migration, and operational support activities. Occasionally, as-required off-hours cutovers and implementations will be necessary
As a Lead Network Specialist, you will:- Apply in-depth networking expertise aligned to the OSI model, with emphasis on Layer 2-4 protocols, routing, switching, traffic flow, IP super/subnetting, DHCP, DNS, NTP, QoS, SNMP, Syslog, AAA, and NetFlow/telemetry
- Design, deploy, optimize, and support Arista wired and wireless networks, including campus switching and wireless, using Arista CVaaS (CloudVision) and AGNI for centralized visibility and operations
- Manage enterprise Internet, MPLS, and SD WAN circuits, including carrier turn ups, migrations, redundancy, performance validation, and Palo Alto SD WAN site onboarding and traffic steering
- Design and support hybrid and cloud network connectivity, integrating routing and traffic flows across on-prem, data center, and cloud environments
- Configure and operate routing, switching, wireless, internet, SD WAN, and Cisco AnyConnect VPN platforms to maximize performance, availability, and secure client access
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues across acquired and production environments while ensuring no or minimal customer impact and adherence to ITIL change management
- Create, maintain, and document network designs, diagrams, traffic flows, preventative maintenance schedules, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with acquisition teams, vendors, and service providers for provisioning, SLAs, escalations, procurement, installations, and cross-training of support and engineering teams
What you need to Succeed:- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical experience with 5+ years as a Senior Network Engineer in a medium to large enterprise environment
- Expert-level experience administering Arista Networks switching and wireless platforms, including familiarity with Arista CVaaS and AGNI
- Strong expertise with enterprise routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and static routing
- Proven experience with Internet circuit deployments, SD WAN technologies (preferably Palo Alto SD WAN), and telecom carrier lifecycle management
- Experience implementing and supporting cloud networking architectures and integrations
- Experience supporting Cisco AnyConnect VPN connectivity and client access models
- Familiarity with load balancing platforms (F5, KEMP, or equivalent) from a network integration perspective
- Strong English communication skills, ability to lead cross-functional technical meetings, work effectively in global teams, prioritize workloads, troubleshoot complex issues, and clearly document solutions

Salary Range: 88,100 - 147,100 CAD per annum, depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
