Overview

We currently have an opportunity for a Lead Maintenance Supervisor at our Manufacturing Facility in Huntersville, NC.

Responsibilities

The Lead Maintenance Supervisor provides technical leadership to optimize manufacturing asset reliability, maintenance execution, and operational performance across a complex unionized manufacturing environment. This role leads maintenance planning and execution strategies that improve equipment availability, reduce unplanned downtime, and maximize asset life while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and other business partners, the position drives continuous improvement initiatives, develops maintenance capability, and influences operational decisions that support plant performance and business objectives.

Leadership
  • Lead safe and efficient maintenance operations to improve equipment reliability, asset utilization, and production performance.
  • Direct maintenance supervisors, technicians, contractors, and maintenance resources to achieve operational and business objectives.
  • Develop team capability through coaching, performance management, and employee development initiatives.
  • Foster collaborative labor relations by maintaining productive communication with leadership and resolving workplace issues.
Maintenance & Reliability
  • Drive preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance strategies to reduce equipment failures and improve long-term asset performance.
  • Analyze recurring equipment issues and implement sustainable corrective actions using structured problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate maintenance outages, shutdowns, and major repair activities to minimize operational disruption.
  • Prioritize maintenance backlog and work execution to maximize schedule compliance and equipment availability.
  • Ensure maintenance work is properly planned, scoped, staffed, and supported with required materials and resources.
Operations & Continuous Improvement
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Safety, Finance, and Human Resources to support plant initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Monitor maintenance performance metrics and implement actions that improve safety, reliability, cost, and operational effectiveness.
  • Support technical troubleshooting of complex manufacturing equipment and maintenance processes to improve operational performance.
  • Drive standardization of maintenance practices that improve equipment reliability and workforce effectiveness.
Financial & Compliance
  • Manage maintenance labor, overtime, contractor utilization, and maintenance-related expenditures to achieve financial objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, regulatory, and company requirements throughout all maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, employee records, and performance information in accordance with company policies.

Qualifications Education/Experience Required
  • Associate degree in a technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
  • 5 years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or process operations environment.
  • 2 years of maintenance leadership, supervisory, planning, scheduling, or engineering experience.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
  • Experience supporting unionized manufacturing operations.
  • Experience leading reliability improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance, equipment reliability, preventive and predictive maintenance principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical equipment issues using structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing work activities while supporting operational requirements.
