Job Description

  • UL Solutions is seeking a Senior Product Specialist, Data & Innovation with strong technical depth in
    global market access, product compliance, conformity assessment, and regulatory data.
  • The role provides the solution expertise behind UL Solutions' digital offerings, including AI-enabled services,
    Global Compliance Management (GCM), and builds partnerships with industry associations, standards
    bodies, and technical committees that influence how compliance requirements are defined and met.
  • The successful candidate can read a technical or regulatory requirement, explain what it means for a
    customer's product portfolio and target markets and translate it into a clear solution design.
  • The role works with engineering, regulatory, product, and data teams to scope digital solutions accurately, leads
    activation and adoption for priority customers, educates sellers and customers, and represents.
  • UL Solutions in association working groups, technical forums, and standards development activity.
  • The role helps make UL Solutions' digital offerings credible, usable, and adopted through solution
    definition, activation, adoption, and customer education, and it strengthens that credibility through
    association and standards partnerships. Final technical authority remains with the appropriate
    engineering and regulatory experts


Responsibilities

Solution Definition and Technical Discovery
• Lead technical discovery to define product scope, applicable standards, target markets, and
regulatory requirements and identify where UL Solutions can create value.
• Translate complex technical and regulatory requirements into solution designs, data requirements,
and scoping documents that product, engineering, and sales teams can act on.
• Work with engineering and regulatory experts to validate feasibility, data accuracy, and technical
claims before they reach the customer.
Activation, Adoption, and Education
• Define activation and adoption plans for priority customers, covering data setup, integration points,
user roles, milestones, and value reviews.
• Educate sellers and customers through webinars, workshops, standards briefings, and association hosted events that build understanding and demand.
• Diagnose technical and data-related adoption barriers, resolve what falls within scope, and bring in
the right expert for the rest.
Commercialization and Market Development
• Identify recurring customer problems that could become repeatable offerings, and help assess
which are worth investment.
• Develop technical solution narratives, use cases, reference workflows, and technical-commercial
playbooks that scale beyond individual customer engagements.
• Partner with the Business Development Specialist and Commercial Teams to qualify and advance
high-potential opportunities.
Industry Association and Standards Partnerships
• Build and maintain working relationships with industry associations, standards development
organizations, trade groups, and technical committees relevant to UL Solutions' digital and
compliance offerings.

• Represent UL Solutions in technical committees and working groups, contribute to standards and
guidance documents, and track changes that affect solution requirements.
• Develop joint activity with associations, including technical webinars, member briefings, white
papers, and conference sessions, that builds market understanding of digital compliance.
• Capture technical and regulatory patterns from customer and association engagement and turn
them into evidence-based recommendations for Product and leadership.

Qualifications

Required
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant
experience.
• Strong technical expertise in a relevant field, such as EMC/wireless, connected products,
conformity assessment, regulatory compliance, or market access.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical
audiences.
• Strong customer-facing presence and the ability to uncover underlying needs and distinguish
symptoms from the real problem.
• Ability to influence across functions and organizational levels without relying on direct authority.
• Strong written, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience participating in industry associations, standards committees, or technical working
groups.
Preferred
• Experience with GCM, GMA research, digital certification, regulatory data, or compliance platforms.
• Enterprise software, subscription, data, or advisory background; customer success, solutions
consulting, or technical business development experience.
• Experience delivering training, webinars, or workshops, and applying technical expertise across
multiple industries.

Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 20% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday and personal days (totaling 12 days), and sick time off (72 hours)
