The Finance Group is responsible for the overall financial management, monitoring, and reporting, for all 17 sections of the Criminal Division. As
Lead Financial Management Analyst, you will be:
- Providing critical guidance to Criminal Division managers on a full range of financial activities and functions, including the validation of expenditures and procedures for processing budget requests.
- Participating in the development of long-range plans based on expenditures, funds reprogramming, and other budgetary information.
- Managing the workload, mentoring, and training of an assigned team of finance professionals, technicians, trainees, and/or contractor employees.
- Analyzing and ensuring the development of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports of obligations and expenditures using relevant applications and data repositories.
- Investigating the utilization of government funds and identifying areas for streamlining and ensuring the placement of adequate controls.
- Overseeing the development of budget execution documents.
- Conducting quarterly and annual year-end-closing activities and performing reconciliation with accounting.
- Resolving complex prediction and forecasting problems resulting from uncertainties and changes in the operating programs.
- Leading financial audit preparation to include account analysis; audit sample preparation; complex data issue resolution; obligations, revenue, payment, and internal controls review; and other related activities.

QualificationsTo qualify at the GS-13 level: You must have at least one year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-12 federal grade level. This experience must include duties such as: managing the development of budget execution documents; providing guidance on a full range of financial activities and functions, including the validation of expenditures and procedures for processing budget requests; and recommending solutions to address budget shortages and fiscal problems.
Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements for consideration by the closing date of this announcement.
