Full Job Description
Role Overview:

We are seeking a Lead Engineer, Configuration Management be responsible and lead the engineering configuration management department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and define the engineering configuration management strategy and process to establish consistency of product performance, functional, mechanical, electrical, and controls related attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information.
  • Chair the Configuration Control Board (CCB) for all engine products.
  • Responsible for maintaining the integrity of structured data including system documentation, drawings, design artifacts, baselines, records, changes in product configurations, and associated configuration information using processes and controls that are compliant with industry/market standards.
  • Support the design, analysis, and evaluation of turbomachinery components, assemblies, and systems integration using sound engineering principles while meeting industry standards and program requirements.
  • Support the engineering change request process and ensure all changes in a product configuration abide by configuration management processes.
  • Create procedures to be compliant with industry standards. Support the creation of design practices and processes for the engine design, assembly, and test phases of a program and model-based systems engineering initiatives. Lead technical root cause / corrective action initiatives and implement changes regarding lessons learned.
  • Serve as a configuration management subject matter expert as part of a diverse systems engineering team. Ensure products and sub-systems meet overall industry standards from a design perspective.
  • Support the development lifecycle process and coordinate with other disciplines throughout the organization to bring products from the design phase into production.
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering best practices.
  • Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical degree from an accredited university or college
  • At least 8+ years of experience working with aviation gas turbines
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a configuration management position
  • Strong understanding of setting up configuration management processes for the development and production phases of a product aligned with military specifications
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and strong program leadership and execution skills
  • Proven self-starter and quick learner who can work in fast-paced cross-functional teams.

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $130,000-$155,000 base salary. Please note that wage information is a general guideline only, and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
