Duties

The subcontractor shall provide nuclear facility safety technical support services for the management of U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear facilities at the Y-12 National Security Complex in accordance with 10 CFR 830 Subpart B and applicable standards such as DOE-STD-3009-94 and DOE-STD-[redacted]. The Subcontractor shall have demonstrated experience in the hazard identification, hazard screening, and hazard evaluation process; the accident and consequence analysis process; the selection of engineered and/or administrative controls credited for the prevention or mitigation of postulated accidents; and the documentation of the results of these processes in safety analysis reports, documented safety analyses, and technical safety requirements. The subcontractor shall also be familiar with technical issues raised by the United States Defense Nuclear Facility Safety Board pertaining to DOE nuclear facilities. The subcontractor shall have the experience and background to serve as a Lead Facility Safety Engineer in either 9212 or 9215 Complexes.

Education

The subcontractor shall have BS Degree plus 15 or more years of direct experience with 10 or more years of DOE-specific experience Nuclear/Safety Analysis Engineering

Level 5- BA/BS Degree plus 20 years plus of direct experience required, or and MA or MS with 19 years of experience

Level 6 BA/BS Degree plus 20 years of direct experience with 10 years of DOE-specific experience required, or an MA or MS Degree, plus 18 years of direct experience with 10 years of DOE-specific experience.

Work Environment / Physical Demands:

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Light to moderate lifting may be required for packages and other items, ability to walk short distances, may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.

Due to government and/or federal regulations for this position, proof of U.S. citizenship is required.
