What is the opportunity?

A Lead Developer responsible for the Enterprise Content Management Platform is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical content management systems built on IBM FileNet and Tungsten KOFAX, while stewarding the modernization and cloud migration roadmap. The group is continuously working to improve our Agile, Engineering, and DevOps practices, and this role will be expected to actively participate in these efforts.

This role will spearhead efforts towards implementation of AI-driven software development lifecycle and the opportunity to work on enterprise-scale automation and AI integration initiatives, establishing best practices, and advance the technical maturity of our engineering organization.

What will you do?
  • This role will have end to end IT ownership of ECM platform.
  • Perform complex engineering activities including design, development, performance tuning, monitoring, and deployment of ECM content management platform, workflows and integrations.
  • Design and build RESTful APIs and integration services that expose ECM capabilities to business applications, enabling seamless content retrieval, workflow orchestration, and document lifecycle management.
  • Optimize content repository performance, manage document lifecycles, and ensure compliance with retention policies and governance frameworks.
  • Responsible for managing business, vendor relationships. Ensuring all IT risk controls are managed and maintained. Own and manage all risk, audit, and regulatory requests.
  • Ability to work in a highly regulated banking environment.
  • Champion DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices for ECM systems.
  • Design and implement granular role-based access control (RBAC) and attribute-based access control (ABAC) for ECM content, ensuring users access only documents aligned with their job responsibilities and clearance levels.
  • Leverage Gen-AI capabilities such as Claude, CoPilot for intelligent document processing, automated workflow routing, semantic search, and natural language query capabilities over enterprise repositories.
  • Implement AI governance guardrails ensuring that AI-assisted ECM processes maintain data residency compliance, regulatory adherence, and transparent decision-making aligned with enterprise risk policies.
  • Lead the strategic modernization of the ECM platform, evaluating cloud-native ECM solutions and designing phased migration strategies that minimize business disruption.
  • Provides programming expertise and enterprise architecture skills within the ECM domain, serving as a senior technical authority on the platform team.
  • Lead technical design reviews, conduct code reviews, and mentor engineering team members on ECM best practices, API design, and integration patterns.
  • Collaborate with business partners, architects, and other groups to identify complex technical and functional needs of ECM systems based on priority.
  • Collaborate with multiple, enterprise-wide distributed teams to deliver new ECM capabilities and modernization initiatives in business applications.
  • Communicate ECM roadmap, migration strategy, and technical trade-offs to senior management and business stakeholders.


What do you need to succeed?

Must Have
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with IBM FileNet, Tungsten Kofax, Java/C# or similar OO languages and React, Angular, or equivalent web frameworks and SQL.
  • 8+ years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise application integration, microservices architecture, and API-driven solutions.
  • Advanced proficiency in FileNet, Kofax, and Content viewer development tools: Administrator, Configuration Manager, Designer, and custom code development using FileNet APIs (C#/Java).
  • Strong understanding of document lifecycle management, records management, information governance, retention policies, and compliance frameworks (SOX, GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Expert-level capability in configuring, tuning, and maintaining FileNet infrastructure, including object stores, workflow engines, and security models.
  • Expertise in designing data retention policies and automated destruction workflows compliant with regulatory frameworks (SOX, GDPR, HIPAA, FINRA).
  • Expert proficiency in RBAC, ABAC, and access control models with ability to design fine-grained access policies for enterprise content.
  • Proven technical leadership with demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, drive architectural decisions, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Excellent ability to translate complex technical challenges into business language; comfortable presenting technical roadmaps and migration strategies to senior management.


Nice-to-Have
  • IBM FileNet Certification: IBM Certified Associate Developer - FileNet or IBM Certified Solutions Architect - FileNet.
  • Kofax TotalAgility (KTA) Certifications: Administrator, Transformation Professional Developer, or Workflow Professional Developer.
  • Familiarity with AI governance frameworks.
  • Experience designing and implementing cloud-based architecture using Azure, AWS, or GCP. experience with Docker and Kubernetes containerization.
  • Experience integrating large language models into ECM workflows for document summarization, semantic search, or automated content tagging.
