About the RoleThe Lead .NET Developer is a senior technical role responsible for driving the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade .NET applications. This position combines hands-on development with team leadership, mentoring, and architectural ownership to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
Roles & Responsibilities 1.
Technical Leadership & Architectureo Drive architectural decisions and define coding standards across the development team
o Conduct code reviews and ensure solutions align with pre-defined architectural specifications
o Serve as the escalation point for technical issues, blockers, and design questions raised by the team
o Evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve development efficiency
2.
Application Developmento Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-availability .NET applications using C#, ASP.NET Core, and .NET 6/8
o Build and maintain RESTful Web APIs, ensuring security via OAuth2/JWT or IdentityServer
o Implement asynchronous and task-based programming patterns for performance optimization
o Perform database design, write complex queries, and maintain MS SQL Server performance and tuning
3.
Team Mentorship & Collaborationo Lead, mentor, and coach junior and mid-level .NET developers toward technical excellence
o Assist the team in breaking down user stories and estimating development effort during sprint planning
o Work closely with product owners, business analysts, QA, and stakeholders to deliver solutions
4.
DevOps, Quality & Continuous Improvemento Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, TFS, or Jenkins
o Enforce test-driven development (TDD), unit testing, and coding standards across the team
o Stay current with the latest .NET ecosystem trends and emerging
Salary and Other Compensation:- The annual salary for this position is between $92,000 - $110,000 + Bonus depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
