Lead legacy modernization and support critical mainframe database environmentsThe RoleAs a Lead Database Administrator - Supra, you will lead the legacy modernization team, focusing on the management and optimization of Supra databases within IBM mainframe environments. This is a hybrid role requiring four days per week in the Toronto office, working closely with application and infrastructure teams to ensure performance, stability, and scalability.
What You'll Do- Install, configure, and maintain Supra databases on IBM mainframe systems
- Monitor and optimize database performance, including capacity planning
- Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
- Oversee database security, access controls, and compliance requirements
- Provide technical support and guidance to application teams using Supra
What We're Looking For- 10+ years of experience in Database Administration
- Strong expertise in Supra, IBM z/OS, COBOL, JCL, and CICS
- Experience supporting legacy systems and modernization initiatives
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Ability to manage priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment
Bonus Points For- Experience leading or mentoring DBA teams
- Exposure to modernization or migration programs
- Familiarity with financial services environments
- Knowledge of automation or scripting within mainframe environments
- Relevant certifications in database or mainframe technologies
