Role Overview:The Group Leader operates production equipment, completes associated documentation, and directs kilo chemists on shift, ensuring all safety, compliance, performance, and production schedule goals are met. This role coordinates with QA, QC, Purchasing, Maintenance, and Material Control to support operations and serves as acting supervisor in the absence of the Production Supervisor.

- Ensure that all work on shift is performed in compliance with Company SOPs, FDA CGMPs, DEA regulations and all local, state, and federal regulations regarding safety, health and the environment.
- Train staff on production activities and organizes daily work to allow for training activities to occur on time. Track training of staff to ensure training is completed on time.
- Ensure that both the facility and pharmaceutical systems documentation are maintained in compliance with Company and FDA/CGMP and DEA regulations and practices.
- Facilitate problem resolution through strong working relationships with Analytical/Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Material Control
- Communicate to and collaborates with the Production Supervisor employee relations issues, performance management of staff, continuous improvement, and project goals/objectives.
- Accountable for documentation and reports related to Kilo Lab operations including, but not limited to shift handover reports, material usage reports, deviations and safety investigations.
- Ensure that waste is appropriately characterized, labelled, stored, and disposed in compliance with all Company, state and federal regulations.
- Assure all production/support equipment is in proper operating condition and that all production equipment is appropriately labelled with a current status tag. Work collaboratively with Maintenance, as appropriate.
- Always ensure the security and safe handling of all controlled substances. Strictly adhere to all Company and DEA regulations.
- Promptly report all incidents in the correct manner, according to procedure and complete investigations as necessary.
- Effectively escalate issues in a timely manner regarding goals versus results.
- Effectively communicate with QC Testing group regarding timing and prioritization of inprocess sample requirements.
- Ensure a level of housekeeping appropriate for a pharmaceutical manufacturer. Develop and maintain 5S areas.
- Ensure appropriate inventory levels of production supplies are maintained.
- Look for ways to improve efficiency and productivity and reduce costs and encourage team members to do the same. Effectively communicate suggestions. •
- May perform all work associated with Kilo Chemist duties to meet Production schedules.
- Additional assignments/ duties to support team objective and contribute to the Veranova mission may evolve based on business needs.
Qualifications: - AA/BA or equivalent minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in STEM field
- High School Diploma and/or Pharmaceutical Certification or equivalent required with 7 - 10 years experience.
- While performing the duties of this job it is required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands or arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch when necessary for job activity
- Able to lift 50lbs and occasionally lift and or/move more than 100 pounds using available material handling equipment.
- Experience working in a production Kilo-Lab and/or Plant
Special Factors
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time while in plant, reaching, handling, twisting, and bending spine at waist when operating equipment.
- Must be able to work rotating shift
Salary Range:The salary range for this role is $80,000-$90,000 annually. This range represents a good-faith estimate of the compensation we expect to offer for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. In exceptional cases, compensation may exceed the stated range.
All full-time employees are eligible to participate in our annual incentive bonus program. Bonus targets vary by career level and are based on individual and company performance.
