SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Planner Supervisor is responsible for optimizing maintenance efficiency, reliability, and the supervision of the Facility Utility, Day Porter, and Commercial Cleaners across all of the foundry and machining operations. This position ensures that all maintenance activities are properly planned, scheduled, resourced, and documented within the company's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The planner works cross-functionally with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to minimize downtime, improve wrench time, and drive continuous improvement in maintenance performance, safety, and cost control.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Program
  • Develop and optimize preventive maintenance schedules and integrate predictive technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, oil sampling) to reduce downtime.
  • Align PMs with production plans to maximize equipment availability and track compliance through CMMS.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase planned vs. unplanned maintenance performance.

Work Order Planning, Scheduling & Job Kitting
  • Convert maintenance requests into detailed, safe, and executable work orders with defined labor, tools, and materials.
  • Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to schedule work efficiently and issue weekly task priorities.
  • Prepare complete job kits and ensure timely, accurate work order closeout and reporting.

Parts, Inventory & BOM Management
  • Maintain accurate equipment BOMs and critical spare listings within the CMMS.
  • Partner with storeroom and purchasing to manage stock levels, reorder points, and long-lead or critical spares.
  • Support component standardization, vendor reduction, and elimination of obsolete or underused inventory.

Data Integrity, CMMS Utilization & KPI Reporting
  • Serve as CMMS data steward, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and system integrity.
  • Track and report KPIs such as PM compliance, schedule adherence, MTBF, and MTTR through dashboards and analytics.
  • Perform root cause analyses and maintain documentation supporting ISO 9001 and 45001 compliances.

Cross-Functional Coordination & Continuous Improvement
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and Safety to plan, prioritize, and execute maintenance work.
  • Support new equipment installations, capital projects, and commissioning documentation.
  • Promote continuous improvement, 5S, and standard work practices across maintenance operations.


Supervisor of the Facility Utility, Day Porter, and Commercial Cleaning team members.
  • Supervise the Facility Utility, Day Porters, and Commercial Cleaners
  • Plan daily and weekly activities of the department.
  • Directly involved in new hire processes for department and coaching employees
  • Supervise and implement safety and housekeeping practices including hazardous waste disposal.


Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in industrial maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred, equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in heavy manufacturing, foundry, or machining operations; 2+ years in a planning or CMMS role preferred.
  • Proficiency with CMMS platforms (Microsoft Dynamics 365, Maximo, eMaint, Maintenance Pro, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred certifications: CMRP, OSHA 30-hour, or Maintenance Safety Certification.


Additional Information

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Walking and performing tasks throughout an active heavy manufacturing operation.
  • Exposed to elements, such as cold, heat, noise, dust, odors, fumes, etc.
  • Work time is spent primarily in an office setting, with time also spent interacting on the production floor.
  • Occasional off-shift or weekend work may be required.
