SENIOR DIRECTOR OF INTERNATIONAL MARKETING

Job Summary:

The Senior Director of International Marketing serves as Visit Arizona's lead strategist for driving inbound tourism across 7 global markets, overseeing an integrated portfolio of international marketing, travel trade, public relations, and social media. This position will report to the Agency Director and work in close collaboration with the Chief Marketing Officer and Director of Social Media. The Senior Director is responsible for directing a team that includes the Director of Travel Trade and Director of Media Relations to build Arizona's brand presence and competitive position on the world stage.

This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (2 days per week in the office/hoteling).

Job Duties:
• Oversee comprehensive destination marketing strategies for 7 international markets (Canada, Mexico, UK, France, Germany, Australia & Taiwan) in alignment with the Chief Marketing Officer's strategic vision for the entire agency's marketing portfolio; work with the Research Department to conduct ongoing research and competitive analysis to identify international growth opportunities and optimize investment; and establish market-specific KPIs and serve as the organization's primary authority.
• Oversee the Travel Trade team and guide them to build product and steward strategic relationships with international tour operators, travel agents, wholesalers, OTAs, and airline partners, overseeing FAMs, trade shows (IPW, ITB), and roadshows to maximize Arizona's presence in global distribution channels. Work includes partnering with in-market representation firms to develop missions, trade toolkits, co-op programs, and B2B marketing materials
• Oversee the Media Relations team and guide them to drive international PR strategies across key international markets, including earned media campaigns, press trip programs, and guiding in-market agencies to deliver measurable results; work includes partnering with in-market representation firms to cultivate relationships with international journalists, editors, digital influencers, and content creators to generate high-quality earned media coverage of Arizona.

• Manage contracts with in-market firms, PR agencies, and vendors, and represent Visit Arizona at industry conferences, government meetings, and with key Arizona tourism stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
• Computer literacy to include Microsoft office and Google workstation.

Skills in:
• Time management, including meeting aggressive deadlines and prioritizing multiple projects;
• Relationship building and networking with diverse stakeholder groups;
• Highly developed oral and written communications skills;
• Proficiency in interpreting marketing analytics (e.g., SEO, CRM, campaign performance) to make data-driven decisions.

Ability to:
• Work well with peers, subordinates and executive leadership;
• Exercise independent judgment;
• Manage relationships with executive leadership, external agencies, and ownership groups.

Selective Preference(s):

Pre-Employment Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree in business, marketing, communications or a related area
• 5 years increasingly responsible experience in destination marketing or program management
