Position Description
We are looking for an experienced Java Messaging Developer to design, develop, and support scalable enterprise applications with a strong focus on messaging, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems.
Roles Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based messaging and integration applications.
• Build scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop asynchronous messaging solutions using technologies such as:
- Apache Kafka
- IBM MQ
- ActiveMQ
- RabbitMQ
- JMS
• Implement event-driven and message-driven architectures.
• Develop message producers, consumers, listeners, and processing workflows.
• Configure and manage queues, topics, subscriptions, and consumer groups.
• Implement message routing, filtering, transformation, and validation.
• Design retry, dead-letter queue, exception-handling, and recovery mechanisms.
• Ensure reliable message delivery and prevent duplicate or lost messages.
• Work with REST APIs and microservices for system integration.
• Integrate messaging platforms with databases and external applications.
• Troubleshoot production issues involving message delays, failures, connectivity, and processing errors.
• Monitor application and messaging performance.
• Optimize message throughput, latency, and system scalability.
• Implement logging, tracing, and monitoring for distributed applications.
• Participate in code reviews and follow Java development best practices.
• Work closely with architecture, DevOps, QA, and support teams.
• Maintain technical documentation for messaging flows, configurations, and integrations.
Skills
• Strong programming experience in Java.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
• Strong understanding of JMS and asynchronous messaging concepts.
• Experience with one or more messaging platforms:
- Apache Kafka
- IBM MQ
- ActiveMQ
- RabbitMQ
• Experience developing message producers and consumers.
• Strong knowledge of:
- Queues
- Topics
- Publish/Subscribe
- Point-to-Point Messaging
- Message Acknowledgment
- Message Persistence
- Dead-Letter Queues
• Experience with REST APIs and Microservices.
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of exception handling, retry mechanisms, and transaction management.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience using Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
