Position Description: We are looking for a Junior Java Developer to join our team in Toronto. This opportunity is well suited for an early-career developer with Java development experience and training in full-stack Java development who is interested in strengthening their technical skills while contributing to application development initiatives.
This role is hybrid and requires you to work from our downtown Toronto office and/or client office a minimum of two days per week. This requirement is subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities:• Develop, enhance, test, and maintain Java-based applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Perform hands-on coding, troubleshooting, and debugging.
• Investigate application issues and work within complex codebases to identify root causes.
• Participate in the development and implementation of application features.
• Collaborate with team members throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support testing and resolution of application defects.
• Contribute to technical discussions and continuous improvement activities.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:• 1 to 3 years of professional Java development experience.
• Training in full-stack Java development.
• Hands-on Java coding and debugging skills.
• Ability and willingness to investigate and work within complex codebases.
• Understanding of software development principles and practices.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a development team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
**CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000-$115,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
