IT SYSTEMS ADMINISTATOR | We are currently seeking an IT Systems Administrator in our St. Louis, MO office (I-44/Rte. 141 Fenton area). This position offers the opportunity for career growth, excellent benefits, and a flexible work schedule.
Job Description:The IT Systems Administrator role is a full-time position for experienced applicants. This position will provide management and support for more than 80 end users and 150 endpoints accessing both on-premises networks and cloud resources. This position reports to the Director of Technical Operations.
Remote or hybrid working arrangements are not available for this position.
Duties & Responsibilities:The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive:
Core Infrastructure & Systems Administration- Manage and maintain the company's Windows Active Directory environment across five sites.
- Oversee on-premises servers, networking equipment, storage, and related infrastructure.
- Lead the migration from separate on-prem and Microsoft 365 authentication to a hybrid Entra ID environment.
- Administer Microsoft 365 Business Premium, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and security controls.
- Implement and manage Intune for device deployment, configuration, compliance, and patching not handled by the MSP.
- Monitor system performance, capacity, and security across approximately 150 endpoints.
- Monitor Datto BCDR performance and make adjustments as necessary.
Software & Application Management- Become familiar with the firm's specialized engineering and CADD-related software suites.
- Coordinate installation, configuration, updates, and troubleshooting for specialized applications.
- Work closely with the CADD leadership to optimize workflows and resolve application issues.
Help Desk & Staff Support- Manage day-to-day Help Desk operations, ensuring timely resolution of user issues.
- Supervise and support one IT Help Desk technician.
- Serve as an escalation resource for complex technical problems.
- Provide clear, professional communication with staff at all levels regarding IT issues and processes.
Security & Compliance- Maintain security best practices for identity, access, endpoints, and data protection across hybrid systems.
- Implement and monitor policies for MFA, Conditional Access, device compliance, and patching.
- Coordinate with the MSP on security initiatives, patching responsibilities, and incident response.
Cloud & Hybrid Services- Oversee identity synchronization, hybrid join, and device onboarding to Entra ID.
- Administer cloud services, backups, and retention policies tied to Microsoft 365 workloads.
- Evaluate and integrate new cloud capabilities as the firm modernizes its environment.
Telecom & Mobility Management- Administer the company's Zoom Phone system
- Manage the company's mobile phones including replacement cycles, and vendor coordination.
Vendor & Asset Management- Serve as the primary point of contact with IT vendors, MSP partners, hardware suppliers, and software providers.
- Track licenses, subscriptions, support agreements, and renewal schedules.
- Oversee procurement of IT hardware, software, and services.
- Maintain accurate asset inventories for devices, peripherals, and software.
Projects & Strategic Planning- Lead IT improvement projects including cloud adoption, security enhancements, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Document procedures, environment configurations, and system changes.
- Contribute to long-term planning for scaling IT systems as the company continues to grow.
Knowledge/Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:Minimum Requirements- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience managing Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy in a multi-site environment.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 workloads (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams).
- Familiarity with identity management concepts, including hybrid AD environments.
- Experience with endpoint management, patching, and deployment tools.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and user support scenarios.
- Experience supporting specialized or nonstandard software applications.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage Help Desk operations, and coordinate staff.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience leading migrations to Microsoft Entra hybrid identity or similar projects.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune (configuration profiles, compliance policies, application deployment).
- Experience administering Zoom Phone or similar cloud-based VoIP platforms.
- Familiarity with Datto or similar BCDR systems.
- Familiarity with managing corporate mobile devices and working with carrier/vendor portals.
- Experience working with MSPs or external IT service providers.
- Knowledge of Azure AD Connect / cloud sync tools.
- Exposure to civil engineering or AEC software ecosystems (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS tools, etc.).
- Experience with license management and IT asset inventories.
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Endpoint Administrator [MD-102]).
Physical Qualifications:- Ability to sit at desk, type and/or use a computer for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds to install IT equipment, climbing ladders, and crawling beneath desks
- Sufficient mobility to move independently to various locations in and out of the office to use various office equipment, coordinate with other staff, visit other EFK Moen and client offices/meeting locations

Starting Salary Range: $80,000-90,000
Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
